I wonder if that fact would help prod Republicans into questioning their support of the PA. Can't hurt, I suppose.

That's what I thought. I mentioned this to my dad before, since he supports the Patriot Act.

That ^ When playing politics converges with the truth - no reason not to play.

I always like to remind conservatives that the Patriot Act was Biden's baby.

"I drafted a terrorism bill after the Oklahoma City bombing. And the bill John Ashcroft sent up was my bill," he said when the Patriot Act was being debated, according to the New Republic, which described him as "the Democratic Party's de facto spokesman on the war against terrorism."

He's so proud.

Not really. He basically thinks that since Bush supported it, it must be a great law. :(

So. it was proposed before 9/11, not as a response to it.
And it was proposed BEFORE the OKC Bombing, not as a response to it.

Seems this has been a plan and intention of both parties and "terrorism" is only and excuse to sell it.

The next year, months before the Oklahoma City bombing took place, Biden introduced another bill called the Omnibus Counterterrorism Act of 1995.

Yeah. I think that's probably how my dad would have run with it. Though it doesn't hurt to keep planting the seeds...one of them's bound to sprout.
