Not today, officers.

Jurors in the sensational Manhattan "rape cops" trial have asked -- and received -- permission to be released from deliberations at 4 p.m. today, signaling they're already planning ahead for a potential no-verdict day.

Today is to be the panel's second full day of deliberating the fate of Officer Kenneth Moreno and his accused lookout partner, Officer Franklin Mata, both charged in the on-duty rape of a drunken young woman they'd been dispatched to help out of a cab in the East Village in 2008.

"We the jury request to end deliberations at 4 p.m. today," read the note, signed by the jury forewoman.

The five women and seven men on the jury spent five hours deliberating in a back-room on Manhattan Supreme Court's 13th floor yesterday.

The panel seemed this morning to have skipped down past the top charges of rape and burglary and to be working on the bottom of the 15-count indictment.

Other notes sent out this morning have requested re-instruction and evidence concerning the official misconduct charges facing both cops.

The officers face a maximum of 25 years prison as alleged accomplices in the top charge, rape.

As soon as I read they were on duty I said "Guilty." Even if it wasn't rape they still screwed the taxpayer.
