Ron is 100% right on this as well.FEMA is just a Government 'warm and fuzzy' PR stunt.

It was private charity that got the houses built faster after Katrina,as far as I can recollect.Brad Pitt was instrumental.Stossel did a show on it.

FEMA is what it is, but the Red Cross has been fan-frickin-tastic.

The Red Cross and private donations work best for these large scale disasters. I donate to the Red Cross here in New York often as they are truly amazing with helping people in local emergencies, such as those displaced after house fires and the like.
