A brilliant writer and blogger, who nonetheless errs on the side of neoconservatism and swears Ron Paul is anti-Israel, crazy and could never win the Republican nomination, finally has something nice to say about Ron Paul - though very little.

If you're going to rebut him, be prepared for a fight. Here's one of his softer criticisms of Dr. Paul.

"...he will never be a nominee of the Republican Party and he will never be president. Why? Because he is more ideologue than politician, and he is running for the presidency of a country that no longer exists."

The guy is absolutely clueless.

He doesn't understand what's the key thing that holds this system together and how fragile that is.

That key thing is the monetary system. Without it, you can't have a welfare/warfare state. Once it breaks down, as it will soon, the federal government will stop helping in every disaster, providing a safety net, or policing the world. The days of the status quo are counted, and the country will look a lot like Ron Paul's vision sooner than he thinks.

I swear all these people attend the same self-help group.

Repeat after me
Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win. Ron Paul cannot win.
