I have no idea what the rules are. I just heard someone else on a YouTube video mentioned it and the thought was a pleasing one. I though, "maybe that's his plan if he doesn't get the nomination and that's why he keeps saying he won't run on a third party ticket?"

That would help, but actually, one doesn't even need to be a member of congress to be elected Speaker.
