Desperation calls for massive spin. They are trying to lump him with what Rand said about healthcare when he said nothing of the sort.

Give it to them Ron!!!!!

They just love Ron. Can't get enough of him. LOL:

I've been trying to think what kind of America we would be in, if people like Ron Paul had been in charge for the last 70 years. For one, we would never have entered the war in Europe against Hitler. The Soviet Union would have moved across all of Europe to defeat Hitler. There would never have been civil rights here in a America, The inter-state highway system would have never been built. Women would not have gotten the right to vote, There would be no safety net like SS, unemployment insurance, medicare ect, ect.

We would never have put a human in space or on the moon. There would be no Hubble Telescope, no federal money going for medical, scientific research or any other kind of research.

This is just a partial list of all the things America would not have done as a nation if the Ron Paul's of the world had been in charge. Doesn't sound like a place I would want to live in.

Alienating liberals, attracting conservatives. Yeah, we're trying to win a GOP Primary!

The General Welfare of the United States. Not the General Welfare of Individuals!

They tolerated him when he was bashing the Neoconservative power structure, but now that's he's making a bid, you watch the claws come out. It's going to be vicious.

And it's going to be wonderful for Ron Paul in the end. The more the liberal freakazoids attack him, the more the average GOP voter wants to vote for him.

Its partly because of those polls showing him as the only candidate that has a chance at taking out Obama.

Disagree with op's characterization partially at least.

These are philosophical soundbite issues during primaries. In the general, an increasing number of anti war progressives/liberals would breakaway from Obama to vote for Ron Paul if he wins the GOP nomination. There is some serious dislike for Obama among anti war community that you may not see when watching msnbc. Ron Paul would continue have a strong brand as a principled pro liberty guy in the general to appeal to many dems if he manages to snatch GOP nomination.

It's odd that the liberal media isn't taking him more seriously than the other candidate. Most liberals I know care more about social issues (non-socioeconomic) so this is surprising to me. Many on MSNBC, such as Dylan Ratigan, have practically endorsed Paul. So I hope that the media will change their ways on libertarianism - this is nonsense.

Liberals tend to support Big Government and Ron Paul is anti-Big Government. What's so odd about that?

Liberals are never going to come to Ron en masse & the mainstream writers will always trash him. But the hopeful idea is that individuals in the liberal ranks will break them to vote for an anti-war, pro-civil liberties candidate from either party. Surely, nobody here is against that.

the 'inhumanity' of winding down the welfare is a dealbreaker for anyone who calls themselves a proud democrat.
