Today I was sifting through some old political material and files I had and ran across a candidate that I had once spoken with. His name is Gary McLeod (http://garymcleod.org) , and he has had several unsuccesful attempts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_McLeod) to unseat his GOP incumbent rival in South Carolina, although he has consistently garnered 25-35% of the vote as a very strict constitutionalist Republican.

I am reaching out to Gary to see if he would be willing to throw his support in Dr. Paul's direction. With fractured support for other contenders, Gary's support base could probably give the district to RP. I think Gary was actually one of the first politcians to realy try and leverage the internet - I spoke with him back in the late 90's. He also runs Citizens for Constitutional Government (http://c4cg.org).

Anyway, it got me thinking about the potential of recruiting "beaten" candidates that have a support base and who are closer to RP's positions than they are of the GOP. I am going to do some research and see what other candidates may fit this profile and continue to work on getting Mr. McLeod's support and assistance.
