Pretty much just work , my mothers , my girlfriends and mowing the lawn , that is probably nine dollars a day , six days per week . Pretty bad huh ?

Haven't added it up. Honey takes care of the bills and books.
But too much.

I started burning wood exclusively for heat because of the price of heating oil.
Keeping gas in the car is a main expense.

Worst part is , I can get a cold twelve pack of Keystone Light in long necks for 9.45 , I would rather spend it that way...

I think you'd be better off drinking the gasoline...

At the dollar store I can get the following items for 1.07 ea ; bottle of lime cleaner , bottle of shower cleaner , roll of paper towels , bottle of dried chopped onion . So ... all four of those would be equivelent to about a gallon of gas , about 4.20 local.

$5-15 -- usually don't buy for 3-8 months. Pretty much everything needed is within walking distance. Go out for a grocery run a few miles out two-three times a month and sometimes need to ship stuff out. Everything else is done online.

On the great now-relevant off-topic discussion of beer, there's a local brewery that sells 24 longnecks for ~$24. Pretty mediocre price (24 typically go for $21-25 around here), but it's 6.8% alcohol (typical beer is ~4.8-5.6% and fuck you if you drink light beer [with the obvious exclusion of Oyarde]), has a great body to it, and it's sold at a walk-distance distributor (uh... not that I make actual beer runs).

Not a penny. :)
I don't have a car.
Everywhere I need to go (work, store, etc.) is within easy walking distance of where I live.

I can make 4x12packs of a wide range of beers for about $30. I'd rather spend it that way.

I spend about $350 to get to work and back. But I drive a big V8 Tundra. Gas isn't high enough yet to make me want to trade the safety of my large truck with a rediculous amount of airbags for a smaller car. (It even has airbags for my knees)

yeah i drive a jeep 93 v8 but the safety factor of that vehicle vs the smaller cars on mtn roads, is a key factor. We had a major accident with our 2 wheel drive vehicle! Though accident wasn't our fault. I would rather my wife drive a tank or a jeep:) then any other type of vehicle! ps she has 14 fused vertebrae(tough cookie)!!

I travel 50 miles a day just for work usually get 2 tanks a week usually at 90-95 dollars a day. If it hits 100 Im just going to take the nozzle, douse my truck, light a match and walk away.

Beer is always relevent , at my age ya gotta go with the light beer unless you want to buy bigger pants.

Yeah, I have a stout and a porter fermenting right now (2x5gallons) = 4cases.
My ingredient total on the stout was $23
and the porter was: $25

I paid off the equipment awhile ago (fairly minimum kit)

best part: no sin taxes paid in to the beast.

Have a prius and a suzuki... Go through a tank with each one a month and it's still under $50 to fill up each one..

Prius gets about 400 miles on 11 gallons, and the suzuki gets a good 300 on about 13 gallons.

60 miles a day for work. Luckily my car is rather fuel efficient and I can get by on about 20 gallons a week in total.

So I guess that would be about $320/month in my car, then another $50-$300 a month to run my furnace and hot water.

Wow, a little off topic, but I think your wife should see a chiropractor.

In 1997 I used to borrow my mom's '94 Saturn sedan for road trips.
I would fill up the gas and lament that I had worked for two hours at my $7/hour shit job to be able to take that trip.

Fast forward to summer 2010, when I bought my own '94 Saturn for commuting (because it was the last good American car made).
This time I'm working as an IT professional, making a living wage, able to live in northern Virginia (highest per-capita income in the country) without my wife working.

When I fill up my Saturn, I now lament that I worked for two hours at my really good job to be able to do that.

I drive a 2004 Crown Vic, and she gets better than you would think at about 23 MPG average, 26 on road trips. The wife a 2008 4 banger Camry, and gets about 26 - 27MPG. I say we fill up 3 times a month each, and fill-ups are about $65 now. So this family of four is about $260 a month.
