And he started bragging about neing disabled. He says that he had hurt his back and was collecting 3K per month disability. Then he goes on to say that he is fine and added that he brings in an additional 2K in California unemployment. I watched him run around and he did look undamaged. This guy rakes in 5K every month tax free....he said he was 28 and would collect this for life. Makes me hope for a US bankruptcy....and laughing about it.

And to top it off there is a young guy in a wheelchair playing on our same table....definatley disabled.

F#@k!

$3k per month means he's getting 100% disability. This probably includes ringing of the ears and PTSD, in addition to whatever back injury he claimed. If you think it's clearly a bogus claim, you can always report fraud to the VA.

Exactly. I'll be willing to bet that his backinjury accounts for 100% of his disability. He probably doesn't want to share the real cause for his percentage. All the same, it's obscene.

PTSD from being abused by government for so long. At least, that's what I had taken it to mean.

Just a sign of the times puppet. What is utterly amazing is that the ponzi society has been able to be propped up so long. I just can't figure it out.

Actually, I have wondered what the psychological effects of living under oppression would be. Think about how crazy our society is; is it natural, or is it the result of years of indoctrination, violence, and oppression?

I've seen quite a number of double rainbows.

Yet I can't say I've ever had that reaction before.

The psychological effects are extreme in my opinion. Don't you feel it?

I mean, let's just take the current situation -- regardless of what did, or did not, actually happen, the current line of thought on OBL is:
if you do not believe the ever changing gov't story without evidence, you are a conspiracy theorist.
if you insist on evidence, then you are a crazy conspiracy theorist that will not believe evidence anyway.
this 'logic' is then used to justify not providing evidence -- since anyone sane already believes it to be true, and anyone who doesn't will reject any and all proof anyway, there is no need to provide proof.

and this is the narrative being spun across all media... the same media filled with "journalists" who are supposed to be hard hitting truth seekers. yet they gleefully 'update' the story with whatever the latest adjustment is.

this is no different that being forced to believe 2+5 = 5.
over and over again.
2+2=5
or you are crazy.
2+2=5
or you are insane.

but if you admit 2+2=5, if you accept it, then you are sane again. you will no longer be an outsider. you will no longer be marginalized.
sad state of affairs. it's hard to hold on.

and that's not even getting into the psychological impact that has created a populace that is actually -resistant- to being show evidence to prove what they already believe to be true.

Last time I played poker with an Iraq vet, the guy would smoke cigarettes, and put them out by snuffing the cig on his arm or hands giving himself a third degree burn each time he did it...and doing it multiple times.

The military does crazy stuff to people... rightly so, many of them are crazy. I don't know of a single sane person making it out of basic after 2001. Those of you who know what I am talking about knows this.... That being said, the whole 100% disabled thing is hard to believe. Report him if he is not physically disabled.

Yeah, ok. turn on the other mundanes. What you should be doing is figuring out how to get SSI as well and maybe some insurance payments from your employers insurance. Drop a box on you foot, lift something with your left hand, and bam, you too can get free $$$$!

As for the money he gets for free. Hell, I'd want money too if I signed up for the military thinking I was going to DEFEND the country and then got shipped off to some foreign country and almost killed.

I don't really think of ignorance as an excuse. We've known from day 1 the Iraq war was unjust and not in our own self defense.

Agreed.

Humans are competitive by nature and will take what they can get. Convincing people to work in a market that can barely be productive with all the taxes and regulations we have is not very attractive and makes it difficult to be self-reliant (since half your stuff is being taken). That doesn't mean he shouldn't try or that you can't have the discussion, in context you can show him how in a free society he probably wouldn't be taken care of to the extent that he is but could better take care of himself.. but reporting him and seeing the benefits disappear isn't going to really do anybody any good.

Actually the USG does not recognize that anymore for disability. My whole shop has talked about this a lot considering we are all Radiomen and it is extremely common amongst our line of work. The reason why? Too many people coming back from overseas 'engagements' have this, so they aren't going to cover it anymore (too expensive??). We were making jokes that if too many people got their legs blown off that they would stop covering that too. There was also a guy in my shop who got 30% disability because he had SLEEP APNEA. I hope the country goes bankrupt myself -- so much corruption and abuse.

It is ironic when a politician like Obama gets up and talks about how no one wants money from the government, but they have no other options. Then everyone you meet that is taking government money is scamming the system.

Since when? I know people who were awarded disability compensation for tinnitus (ringing of the ears) as little as three months ago.

The system itself IS a scam.
