This list looks like it's filled with a bunch of amateurs..
Ani DeGroot, regional director - a native of Iowa City and is currently enrolled at the University of Iowa majoring in economics and political science. DeGroot is a member of the College Republicans at the University of Iowa and has served as the Iowa State Chair for Young Americans for Liberty, the continuation of “Students for Ron Paul.” The group is committed to recruit, educate, train and mobilize students on the ideals of liberty and the Constitution. Last year DeGroot spent her spring break working on the Rand Paul. DeGroot has served as a Republican delegate and Central Committee member for the Johnson County Republican Party since 2008.
Really? She's a current student? Come on now..we can do better than that.

She's a link to current students, as well. and is she a she? I wasnt sure if that was a girl's name or not. And note: "DeGroot has served as a Republican delegate and Central Committee member for the Johnson County Republican Party since 2008."

I know Ani personally, and she's been working her butt off in IA for Ron for the better part of a year. She is solid trust me.
Rocco is a good guy too who is experienced as well as Steve Bierfeldt (remember he's the one with the $$ and the TSA incident). I don't know Ryan and Rachel is with YAL.
These people are educated and trained and experienced.

I don't doubt that they are educated and trained, but how long have these people been working on campaigns? I don't see where the experience comes from if they just worked on the Paul campaign in 08 and '10. Seems pretty amateurish to me, but I'm not a professional. I hope they made the right choices. I thought they would bring in some big guns with connections, fundraising abilities, and the like.

Do any of those people hold any official positions within or have otherwise been involved (long-term) in the Iowa GOP?

I am surprised Joe Seehusen hasn't resurfaced.
YES! I LOVE this list!! Steve "Rambo" Bierfeldt is not only awesome but knows the need to run the campaign differently this time, knows the grassroots got jaded from the last campaign, and is willing to work his ASS off to make sure Ron is elected. He has a degree in poli sci, and was a director in the Leadership Institute. He was also director for Rands (ahem..successful) campaign.
Ani Degroot is an amazing asset to have as well! She is a hard worker and is perfect for the position.
Ryan Flowers also has a poli sci degree he was part of the 08 campaign and also on Rands staff
and you should all know Rocco from the Philly event.
I don't know the other girl but I have no doubt with the rest of this team she is equally as awesome.
Ron made it VERY clear, the other two times he ran was for educational purposes and that he never expected to win. He legitimately believes he can win this time!! Please don't discount the campaign just because of any issues from last time! Give them a CHANCE at least to prove themselves, I am quite confident they will.
An article written by Ani regarding the Federal Reserve: http://www.dailyiowan.com/2010/11/08/Opinions/19908.html

It's a young team, but that means to me they'll have plenty of energy and I am sure can reach out to the voters who reliably show up every year. We should do all we can to support them in their new roles.

I can vouch for three on the list. Excellent picks. This is a get out the vote effort. These people have results. Take a look at Rands success if there is any doubt.

Do you trust Ron Paul? If you don't trust him to choose the right people to run his campaign how can you trust him to be president?
He won't choose insiders. He has said himself that people have approached him to change the way he presents his message and he refuses to do that. He will only pick those who he trusts and those who will support his principled stance.
This means for the most part, it won't be names you recognize.

^^ I concur! Although, I don't know Ani personally, I do know she has been working on Ames, before people even started threads on the Ames Straw Poll. Overall looks like a great group of people!
I'm starting to get real excited!!!

Ani is a member on this forum, so any experience here will be carried to the IA team. Also, there will be many bigger named volunteers.

Not impressed at all with the Iowa staff. I can see this group getting in over their heads quickly. Nice people, and that may be part of the problem. Too nice.
Looks like the grassroots will have to make Iowa happen, and hopefully the Iowa staff will not screw things up like the campaign staff did in 2007.
Here's hoping for a better national campaign team - and there may be hope if there is a strong national campaign director telling the Iowa staff what to do.
EDIT: I did not realize Bierfeldt was involved in Rand's campaign. That's certainly a positive and perhaps he has learned a lot and can handle this.

Ivers was already announced as being a part of the Iowa staff.

A couple things I'd ask you to consider. First, if we start with the opinion they can't do the job, we really hamstring ourselves. From chats I've had, these are all extremely capable, turbo-charged activists. They all started in the grassroots, and have been in the weeds with us the entire time. Most of them as far as I know already have large networks of friends and activists, and have proven themselves by organizing and leading events. Think of them as our 'community organizers.' That's how BHO was able to get all his incremental voters out of the woodwork, by using energized activists who had proven they can organize events. Most of them have accounts at RPFs as individuals, and put yourselves in their shoes. Wouldn't it be extremely disheartening, being a 20's-something activist, to see before you even have a chance to shine and show your capabilities, you're getting dead-panned by folks on the forum you visit for ideas?
I often times post stuff that after I think about it, I ask myself "what if the person to whom I directed my ire read that"? and I reserve my thoughts.
These are our people, and I really want them to succeed, a lot. Because they already have our political philosophy in their hearts (and not put their by dollar signs -- no offense Ron but you are notoriously frugal with salaries I've heard), they possess the incremental motivation to climb the vote-collecting learning curve in a big hurry. I hope that they share any pearls of wisdom they attain along the way so that we may leverage their experience to NH and beyond.

Note how I edited with a positive before you responded.
sorry, but after he ineptitude of the campaign staff last election, the new campaign staff has to prove themselves to me first.
You ask me, they should consider it a challenge if they are up for the job.
I will be the first to sing their praises for a job well done in IA - and elsewhere, but until I see it I am going to have a healthy skepticism, which is one where the grassroots needs to realize it can't rest on the campaign doing everything.
An excellently run campaign by national AND the grassroots notching it up will get RP elected.
