You guys should go over to Daily K and read their Ron Paul section. They are worried about the support he is getting from their own subscribers. Thankfully no one has mentioned his real position on abortion and gay marriage. They think he is pro-life and anti-gay marriage. If one of their posters brought up his real view on the subject it might start a riot. It is fun to read how scared they how.

I read a few of the posts over there and they're enough to make you sick. Calling Dr. Paul a bigot. He's probably one of the most UN-bigoted persons I've ever known.

Actually that is a fantastic percentage. These guys are the anti-paul. They are all about big government. They love handouts. They just don't realize that governments should never be trusted. They say more regulation of business is always good. However main effect of most government regulations on business is the businesses corrupt the government.

They are. I just read over there. I think as long as we keep cool heads and speak the truth, Ron Paul will rise above the angry rubbish. I think it's our optomism. They are so negative and pathetic

Actually that is a fantastic percentage. .

That's what I thought too. If we can win over 40% of those hard core socialists. we're doing a good thing.

Reading all of that made me write a huge rant, but there's only one part of it I like enough to actually post

People don't understand some of the finer tenants of objectivist ethics. Capitalism does not automatically translate to wanton hedonism.

Also, is anyone else seriously yearning for Ron Paul to come out and fully and completely address that newsletter of his? It's suffocating his presidential run amongst libertarian democrats.

I don't want to join the DailyKos to jump in, but after reading the first 50 posts or so, I wanted to mention that with Ron Paul as president, they would have a much better chance of implementing useful social programs at the state level, if that is what the people of the state choose.

I've written about this in other threads, but there are good talking points that would appeal to progressive liberals along these lines. Whereas libertarians would argue that a free market would provide all/most goods and services better than the federal government, I think a similar statement can be made, - States can provide goods and services better than the federal government.

Man, it's odd how people always say they'll only vote republican, or only vote democrat, or just third party. Republicrats are two sides of the same coin, there's very little difference between them. They need to look more at the individual candidates, regardless of party labels. That said, all the candidates on the democrat's side seem very socialists. Romney, McCain, and Giuliani should join up with them.

Wow, Ron Paul has the ability to make any forum explode. But upon reading that thread, there really was only about 2 rabid haters. There were many good comments mixed in. The 2 rabid haters simply tried to drown them out.

From their board:

it <Iraq withdrawal> ain't enough for me, not when every single one of the Democrats is saying the first thing they'll do if they're elected is start withdrawing from Iraq.

Did I miss something? I didn't hear Hillary or Obama say that, although I believe Gravel and Kucinich may have.

Are they only hearing what they want to hear?

And it's really frustrating to hear them talk about unfettered immigration, without realizing that their elaborate social programs are the biggest economic detriment to that very policy.

Dailykos is as far to the left as freerepublic is to the right. Ron Paul has everyone scared now, except for we who support him of course.

The left is afraid, because one on one, I think they know Ron Paul would decimate Hillary and/or Obama. I wouldn't be all too surprised to see a concerted Republicrat effort to discredit and bash him in the near future.

Ron Paul + Internet vs MSM + Republicrats

It's gonna be a rumble

There's no room for anybody who doesn't toe their party line in their world, that's for sure.

I read up on them, and I'll bet phenry is trying really, really hard to get a job as a front page blogger there. Can't blame him/her for that.

What the hell is the point of a partisan blog? Their mission is to unite Democrats of all ideologies against Republicans. What the hell good is that going to do?

jjschless
06-13-2007, 08:50 PM
They have much hate and it makes them weak. They cry out against Dr. Paul because he appeals to them. They can't come to terms with that and it is eating away at them. So they strike out and spit forth vitriol in hopes he will disappear and the old ways return, where Republicans and Democrats followed the Archetypal mold. Where it was easy to be partisan and easy to identify the opposition. Where the lines were clearly drawn.

Why do they have hate for Dr. Paul?

Perhaps because their vote is for "a Democratic" Candidate as no one Dem has impressed upon them the vision of a better future that Dr. Paul has for so many of us. Perhaps this fight they hold is against the NeoCons, not the Republicans and Dr. Paul is not a NeoCon so it is more difficult to put him in the camp of the enemy.

Perhaps I'm talking out of my ass..

I just saw a Google result from that site indicating that the plethora of Ron Paul supporters has inspired a Kos kid to blog about "Why we're Democrats and What We Believe" or something. I'm not giving them a hit on it.
