The al Qaeda terrorist network has confirmed the death of its leader, Osama bin Laden, U.S. monitoring group SITE Intelligence reported on Friday.

SITE Intelligence said al Qaeda confirmed bin Laden's death on a jihadist web site, warning that his "blood will not be wasted" and attacks on Western nations would continue.

Bin Laden was killed on May 2 in the Pakistani town of Abbottabad, north of the capital Islamabad, during a raid by U.S. Navy Seals.

The statement followed U.S. claims that al Qaeda was preparing a terrorist attack on the U.S. rail network to mark the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

White House spokesman, Jay Carney said on Wednesday that Washington would not release bin Laden's postmortem photos to avoid instigating propaganda and possible violence.

Every step Obama takes to prove to us Osama is dead, just digs him into a deeper hole. :D

Obama government has handled the PR management so badly on this, now even if Obama released the non-fake OBL photo, the skepticism regarding government claims and contrarian theories may not die.

Seeing some discussion that the electrical outlets are incorrect and not the kind used in Pakistan.

Ofcourse, then sometimes it seems media ot some officials may themselves be trying to confuse public:

Who whoever stamped "US Govt. Video" on this video snapshot should have their photoshop softwate taken away from them. Obama administartion has been trying hard to convince naysayers that these vids are Al Qaueda production and NOT US Govt production and then they leak this photo on yahoo. Incredible.

Incompetence levels are not that high doodle.

It's not typical or common procedure for the US to label every video of theirs with this watermark. I've never seen it.

The watermark serves no purpose that I can think of. Adding that label doesn't make the video any more official.

It could have been added by Yahoo or any middle man.

It struck me as odd on first look, but you maybe right, it could be Yahoo news staff who put this stamp on this snap. It would be be odd for Us Govt put its stamp of ownership watermark on a video that was produced by some terrorist group.

A better headline for the story should have been, "Al Qaeda Confirms it is Still a US/UK Intelligence Asset by Confirming Bin Laden's Death."
