dont forget all the campaign for liberty meetups too.


i dont see the cool maps they used to have that showed the entire world covered with ron paul meetups. lol

There was facebook last time too. And as an organizer of several meetups, I can tell that people who join meetup show up, people who where on Facebook did not. We would hold an event and would get a fair amount of contribution from meetup people, never had anyone show up who was on Facebook only.

Look at how many things people like. Once they do it, they don't have to pay attention to it anymore and any messages getting sent out gets jumbled up with the rest of the spam the other 500 groups they have joined send. Also for some reason once people have joined a fb group or liked a page and the fact that they have done so some how gives them a credibility and they don't feel like they have to show up and actually do stuff.

I have no problem with FB for spreading awareness or for advertising. But for organizing it is not that good imo.

Use FB to advertise for your MU group, and to spread the word, but not exclusively.
