I'm assuming they would be pretty similiar..

well I know the FR's claim of 2% inflation is pure bullshit. But CPI over the last 6 years shows an annual increase of about 5.9%, which I would assume is a more realistic measure of actual inflation.

Directions: Click Gold, then "1833-1999 Yearly Averages" under "YEARLY GOLD CHARTS".

Had we kept the gold standard, it would have remained mostly flat the entire time. I think it was the early 1900's where we dropped the gold standard.

PS - I knew the dollar was in bad shape long before this campaign but this is really dangerous territory after actually looking at the numbers.
