Does anyone know where Pawlenty got his "bin Laden was found by waterboarding" meme? Would have loved it if Ron could have expounded on what he believed the evidence was during the debate. Unfortunately all he could get in was "not true".

Read an article today that stated even Donald Rumsfeld said that this technique did not lead to his whereabouts.

O rly?

He clearly says we would not have killed him without the intelligence we had. There are many different methods and definitions of "Enhanced interrogation techniques". I never heard the term waterboarding used in that interview. According to my source he specifically says No waterboarding used.

Listen about 2 minutes in.

It is true that some information that came from normal interrogation approaches at Guantanamo did lead to information that was beneficial in this instance. But it was not harsh treatment and it was not waterboarding

So which Donald Rumsfeld do you wish to believe?
