Today on my college campus there were a group of individuals from the progressive student alliance handing out fliers to recruit students for an anti-war rally. I tried striking up a conversation with them about Ron Paul and how he is the only anti-war candidate. None of them had even heard of Ron Paul. Does anyone feel that a significant portion of the anti-war crowd have their heads so far up their asses that they do not realize a candidate of Dr. Paul's caliber exists?

I think there are a LOT of anti-war types who have not heard of either Dr. Paul OR Hillary and Obama's flip-flopping on the issue. Combine those two bits and you could get some converts.

Our group participated in an Anti-War rally about a month ago - about 400 marchers and about 85 different groups :D. Some people were glad to see us there while others were totally against him due to his fiscal policy beliefs (if you don't know, Portland has a very "nanny state" feel to it - very liberal - ULTRA liberal - and actually an active Socialist party as well!)

I think it's good to network with these people. So many Democrats think "oh, I will vote Democrat because I'm against the war" but they don't realize what Hillary has said about possibly being in Iraq until her 2nd term not to mention the other candidates!

There is only ONE candidate with the balls to stop this war and this insane foreign policy!

That's about all I need to say to win over Democrats.

There are LOTS of people who have no idea who Ron Paul is, including anti-war folks.

SOME of them will be receptive to Ron Paul if you talk to them, others will not (many of them are more "liberal" than "anti-war"- they'd rather vote for a liberal war monger like Hillary than a libertarian Republican anti-war guy like Ron Paul).

Still a good place to recruit and get Ron Paul's name out, though.

I created a flyer to capitalize on the lack of anti-war commitment from the Democrats.

Headline: Troops in IRAQ until 2013
Top half: Tim Russert's debate question, followed by Obama, Clinton, and Edwards' answers.
Bottom half: "just march out" quote from Ron Paul, with his website info.
