I wrote this up and sent it to my Meetups and email lists, which include Ron Paul supporters but also newer Tea Party/Rand folks. Feel free to use the text if it will help, we need to make sure EVERY Ron Paul supporter knows about the moneybomb, (and a lot more besides.) During Rand's campaign, I think not everyone knew about them...

Hello Friends!

The first GOP presidential debate will be televised Thursday night at 9:00 P.M. on FOX. As another presidential cycle approaches, we probably all know what will happen. A herd of GOP Establishment candidates will be trotted out, and much will be made of their supposed differences with Obama by the old media, which will "inform" the public which candidates are "viable" and who we should vote for. A few may even give lip-service to the Constitution. In reality, many of these same candidates have spent their careers pioneering government health care, voting for deficit spending, unconstitutional war or begging for tax increases - just like the President! Their disagreements with him have more to do with political posturing than principle. You know the ones I'm talking about. And, if we let ourselves be swayed by the Establishment and the old media, all we will get is a disappointing rerun of 2008.

But as we proved in Kentucky last year with astounding 24% and 12% wins, WE have the power to change all that - and freedom is popular! Our efforts have been rewarded, with most of the serious proposals to cut spending, balance the budget and return Constitutional government coming from Kentucky's newest senator. And now his father, Dr. Ron Paul, whose supporters challenged the Establishment and held tea parties (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZYs4cNVKqs) across the country in 2007, has formed an exploratory committee (http://ronpaul2012.com/) to gauge support for a presidential run. A grassroots moneybomb is being held TODAY and I want to give you three reasons why it's absolutely critical we donate whatever we can (whether a little or a lot) and get our friends to donate!

1) Dr. Ron Paul Can Beat Obama
A Rasmussen poll last year showed Dr. Paul virtually tied with Obama - 41% to 42% (http://www.tinyurl.com/rpvsbo). These results are astounding when you consider Dr. Paul hadn't even begun his campaign, whereas the President gets constant television coverage. His momentum this year has been astounding, winning straw polls at CPAC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgTKHozcFLA), the national Tea Party Patriots convention (http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/6515-rep-ron-paul-tops-tea-party-straw-poll), and the recent Townhall/Hotair (http://hammeroftruth.com/2011/ron-paul-wins-townhall-straw-poll-republicans-react-to-obl-death/) poll. The explosive growth of the tea parties, YAL, CFL and similar groups indicate we will be able to personally contact hundreds of thousands (millions?) of likely voters. Add to that Dr. Paul's strong appeal to Independents and disillusioned Democrats, high name recognition and favorability ratings - he's one of the strongest candidates the GOP can nominate to beat the incumbent.

2) He's The Most Principled Candidate
In 2007, Dr. Paul was warning us of the trouble our economy was in, and the disastrous effects of the Federal Reserve printing money and our government overspending. He was mocked and derided, but events have vindicated his warnings. Though many are speaking the message now, back then few had the grasp of free market economics to understand what was coming, the courage to say it, or the record to prove they were serious about fixing it. I grew up seeing his 100% constitutional rating in the Freedom Index every 6 months - and until this year, no one else even came close. While Establishment Democrats and Republicans argue over bogus "spending cuts" that put us deeper in debt and don't even balance the budget, only Dr. Paul has stood firm like a rock and consistently voted for smaller, constitutional government year after year, through every political season. With Dr. Paul, you know you're supporting the very best.

3) A $10 Donation Today Is Worth $100 In December
Even in today's economic hardship, most of us could afford that much. And $1,000 could be worth $10,000, or $2,500 could be worth $25,000 down the road. As we discovered with Rand Paul's race, early excitement and fundraising translate into credibility and a well-organized, cutting edge campaign. Your donation could be the pebble that starts the avalanche. The timing is right, and this is our best chance in years to elect a truly constitutional president!

So please donate today (https://secure.ronpaul2012.com/index.php), and tell your friends about the moneybomb and the debate!

Thank you,
