If he doesn't come out as the clear winner, it will be a disappointment.

I'm very disappointed the enlightened ones (Huckabee, Romney, Palin, etc) are not here for Ron to crush. Beating Cain or Pawlenty (or anyone on there, really, though I like Johnson) is like Obama beating Kucinich in a debate: "he beat who?"

I sometimes feel Ron Paul could debate Jesus and people will claim he crushed him.

We need to keep in mind what the Average American Voter will think, and what FOX news will spin. It does not matter hardly at all if Ron Pauls current supporters think he wins. We already have seen the light. It's more important who hears the debate and is changed by it.

Gary Johnson needs to drop out, but for some reason, I sense he will come across as more of a neocon than libertarian in his responses.

We can say this now: Ron Paul is the highest polling candidate at the first Republican debate of the 2012 cycle.

Now that's a feat!

The first of many, I hope.

Hopefully Ron can bring that into the debate. Can anyone locate a "poll of polls" up to this point that we can start averaging over time.

You obviously aren't familiar with www.realclearpolitics.com. If it's poll-related, they got it.

I don't like RP being in a debate of what is clearly a 2nd tier field.

Seconded. That's really lame.

Dr. Paul will stand out.
If we want Ron Paul to win the GOP nomination, us, the grassroots, need to put in 110% effort and hardwork.

That's how the media is going to try and play this one out... We need to point out the lack of commitment to the American People by Gingrich, Romney, and Trump for not participating.

If played right, Ron Paul could emerge as the top Republican Candidate!

Will 1% T-Paw be treated as the front runner?

I can name 3 other people in that debate that need to drop out b4 Gary Johnson. That's alright I understand. Can't possibly build a coalition with the Gary Johnson people. They may taint the sacred water.

His numbers are generally comparable to Ron Paul, although Paul is much higher in some states and TPaw is much higher in others. But yes, that is the narrative the media has set.

I will be pretty shocked if Fox doesn't question his electability and whether he should run 3rd party.

I think Santorum will be the Fox favorite.
