ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA— This week, the Nielsen Corporation claimed that Fred Thompson had the greatest number of unique campaign website visitors of all the Republican presidential candidates in August. Nielsen indicated that Mr. Thompson’s site had 410,000 unique visitors to Fred08.com. However, both Google analytics and the web information service Alexa refute the Nielsen ratings, providing in-depth analyses of candidates’ campaign website web traffic and reach.

The Google analytics for www.ronpaul2008.com prove that Congressman Paul’s website had 463,447 absolute unique viewers for the month of August. Alexa not only verifies that the Ron Paul website had the greatest number of unique visitors of all Republican campaign websites in August, but also reports that he had the greatest web reach of all presidential candidates. Additionally, Congressman Paul’s site has reached 67 percent more visitors in the past three months and is the clear winner in web traffic and visitors.

“Dr. Paul has the most web traffic of any candidate,” said Paul eCampaign director Justine Lam. “His growing web popularity corresponds with the strength of our grassroots support, and with an increase like 67 percent, we are well positioned to pursue the GOP nomination.”

Nielsen’s estimates place www.ronpaul2008.com with a flagrantly incorrect figure of 210,000 unique visitors for the month of August, less than half of the actual number.
