Distributing articles like this that show the other candidates' weaknesses is another way to help Dr. Paul. Especially coming from high profile people like George Will.

Thanks for posting this--very good article!

Some of George Will's points remind me of what Peggy Noonan (former Reagan speechwriter) wrote about Thompson in this May 18 opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal:

http://www.opinionjournal.com/columnists/pnoonan/?id=110010089

Among the things she says about Thompson:

"People speak of Mr. Thompson's movie-star looks. But he's not beautiful, he's heavy and gray. What he has is bearing. He has the manner of someone who thinks a great deal of himself, and thinks it after long personal pondering of his good points, bad points, high points and low. He may or may not be correct in his conclusions, but I suspect they are part of his draw. I suspect people pick them up.

Is he anything beyond a standard Republican conservative? Will he have anything beyond a Mideast policy that consists of win in Iraq, support the surge, and oppose any timetable? Does he stand for any strategic thinking apart from what John McCain unconsciously but aptly characterized as "Bomb-bomb-bomb, bomb-bomb Iran"? On domestic issues, can Mr. Thompson go beyond standard conservative thought? I happen to be standard conservative myself, but sometimes old things need to be made new, the obvious needs to be made fresh."

Whenever I see Thompson he's got this smug look like he's won the nomination already. I am skeptical of Thompson because I don't really know where he stands. Anybody got a link or something that objectively describes his views? To me he seems like a shiny-on-the-outside, right-leaning, winds-of-change, shallow politician. Maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks. There's some poor marks on that but, I don't know if any are really bad enough to alarm most Americans too much. He hasn't really been involved in much. He's kind of like the right-wing Obama.

Thompson is a CFR member.

That is all I need to know of him.
