Anyone else notice this?

Do companies get tax breaks for running commercials for running "heart felt" soldier commercials? Does the NBA get the same treatment?

I dunno, it's annoying. I love basketball, but I hate the NBA. It's always been a very globalist organization.

MLB is the same way, and didn't the NFL honor Bush I & Clinton at the super bowl a few years back? Pro sports are all tied in with nationalism and militarism, sadly.

I am a huge MMA fan, but the UFC events on Spike are the absolute worst for shameless soldier sniffing. They even have 10-15 minute segments about military equipment and how awesome the army is. And I don't think I've ever seen a UFC commercial break without at least one recruitment ad.

Unfortunately all major sports pander to the "troops" and the militarists. They've tied "patriotism," militarism, and sports all together.

Seems like war worship is tied to so many sporting events and other things in our culture right now. How else will they get the huge number of voluntary recruits they need for the military, which is spread so thin right now, without the propaganda? Pretty sad.
