Canadian voters have delivered Conservative Leader Stephen Harper another election night victory, but it is still too close to call whether he will head a minority or majority government, CBC News projects. Meanwhile NDP Leader Jack Layton was set to become Official Opposition leader.

The NDP made a major breakthrough, more than doubling their seat count, while the Liberals were poised to suffer a major electoral loss.

From 4th to 2nd in one election cycle, that's pretty big. It looks like Conservatives might pick up a majority of the seats in the House of Commons.

LOL 20 min ago, it was 141 seats.

Went and took a shower and now it's 161 seats. (155 seats for majority)

That was before a lot of the western seats reported, and a lot of ridings still have leads of less than a hundred. There were a few with one vote separating the candidates at one point.

direct result of the Osama killing. now Canada stays in Afghanistan, passes 3 strikes, and if Obama or Trump pass a draft, Canada won't be open.
