Nullification Advocates Take Show On The Road (http://www.splcenter.org/blog/2011/04/26/nullification-advocates-take-show-on-the-road/)

Southern Poverty Law Center / Hatewatch
April 26, 2011

Nullification is nothing new. Battles over states’ abilities to reject federal government initiatives go back to the founding of the country. During the 1950s, Southerners revived the idea as a way to reject the federal government’s efforts at desegregation.

State vs. Federal: The Nullification Movement (http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/constitution/2957-state-vs-federal-the-nullification-movement)

Because the Supreme Court has for many years interpreted the Constitution in a manner to further empower the federal government, states are moving to take power back from the feds through a growing and vibrant nullification movement. By Patrick Krey

Nullification in a Nutshell (http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/history/american/2971-nullification-in-a-nutshell)

The modern-day nullification movement has as its genesis the principle of federalism and the writings of James Madison and Thomas Jefferson, in particularly the famous Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions of 1798, supporting the right of states to nullify unconstitutional federal usurpations. More on the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC):

Leftist SPLC Publishes Patriot Hit List (http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/politics/3358-leftist-splc-publishes-patriot-hit-list)

The leftist Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is worried that non-violent conservative opposition to big government will lead to violence, and has produced an enemies list that includes much of the freedom (patriot) movement. by Thomas R. Eddlem

Media Bias: Demonizing the Right (http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/politics/3513-media-bias-demonizing-the-right)

The media bias against the political Right can easily be detected in news reports that portray the Tea Party movement and the Right in general as being filled with instigators of racist hate and violence. By William F. Jasper

Media Jump to Smear Right With Extremist Label (http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/politics/3238-media-jump-to-smear-right-with-extremist-label)

Morris Dees and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) are using the recent arrests of the Hutaree Militia to smear The John Birch Society and constitutionalist Christian organizations as dangerous hate groups.by William F. Jasper

Profiling and Criminalizing Political Dissent (http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/politics/911-profiling-and-criminalizing-political-dissent)

A recent report issued through the Missouri State Highway Patrol is stirring alarm among citizens and some elected officials that Christians, political conservatives, opponents of unconstitutional government, supporters of Ron Paul or Chuck Baldwin, and Americans who sport constitutional bumper stickers are right-wing extremists.

______________

The MIAC Militia report specifically mentions the SPLC twice, but the report reads like a copy-and-paste job from the SPLC’s infamous Intelligence Report, which are notorious for smearing political conservatives, constitutionalists, pro-lifers, and Christian organizations by referring to them as “hate groups” and including them in lists and articles alongside violent and repulsive groups such as the Ku Klux Klan, Neo-Nazis, and skinheads.

To those patriots that made it on the list, wear this title as a bade of honor for you are making the world a far better place!

That's easier said than done though: The SPLC deliberately groups patriots/libertarians/etc. along with hardcore racists, so that they all share the same label. It's like if a hypothetical Southern Pedophile Law Center decided to call their political enemies child molestors and include them in a list of certified pedophiles, along with actual convicted molestors. The organization might be evil, and being targeted can often mean you've made enemies because you're on the right side...but you can't really brag about the label, because by design a lot of other people carry it too, who aren't nearly so virtuous.

Hrm...maybe someone could actually make a parody of the SPLC this way and include SPLC members in a list of pedophiles? Of course, that would be libel, because unlike the "real" SPLC, the Southern Pedophile Law Center parody would not have carte blanche to defame.

BTW, if you ever want to get pissed off at the smugness of the entrenched establishment, check out the SPLC's Wikipedia page. The SPLC's intellectually bankrupt defenders have COMPLETELY suppressed all criticism of them, and the only indication is the neutrality dispute mentioned at the top. No criticism of the SPLC is even allowed to be mentioned (even references to publicized editorials), because it never meets the "reliable source" criteria selectively enforced by the SPLC's gatekeepers on the page...yet the SPLC's own claims can be mentioned and linked to, because the FBI has decreed them to be reliable. Go figure.

The "N" Word (http://blog.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2011/05/the-n-word/)

Jason Rink | Tenth Amendment Center (http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com/)
May 3rd, 2011

It’s official. The Southern Poverty Law Center thinks I’m a racist (http://www.splcenter.org/blog/2011/04/26/nullification-advocates-take-show-on-the-road/).

And I must be. Why else would I have been quoted in a recent article posted on their blog “Hatewatch?” A quick glance at their recent posts column would lead one to believe that I have been associating with a sordid cast of characters: Muslim-bashers (http://www.splcenter.org/blog/2011/05/02/muslim-basher-terry-jones-stirs-angry-demonstration-in-dearborn/), Neo-Nazis (http://www.splcenter.org/blog/2011/05/02/california-neo-nazi-leader-shot-dead-10-year-old-son-held/), and “Birthers (http://www.splcenter.org/blog/2011/04/28/the-day-after-birthers-regroup-with-crazed-claims-of-fraud/).”

So what did I do that got the SPLC’s attention? I used the “N” word.

I know, I know. What was I thinking? It’s not a politically correct thing to say in 2011. And the SPLC might have let me off the hook if all I did was say the “N” word.

But the thing is, I didn’t just say the “N” word. I went all out. I rented an auditorium and hosted an entire conference (http://www.nullifynow.com/austin/) dedicated to celebrating the “N” word.

Naturally, I was promoting the heck out of this conference in the weeks leading up to it. Guys like me want to infect as many people as I can with these dangerous ideas. So, I was blogging the “N” word all over my website (http://f4fs.org/), posting the “N” word all over Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/jasonrink), and even inviting guests on my radio show (http://livefreeaustinradio.com/) to talk about it. I even wore a black shirt with the “N” word printed right across the front of it.

It probably didn’t help that I invited a “former member of the Neo-Confederate hate group League of the South” to be the keynote speaker. But I practically had to invite him. I mean, Thomas E. Woods literally wrote the book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1596981490?ie=UTF8&tag=libert0f-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=1596981490) on the “N” word. The conference wouldn’t have been the same without him.

Wait a minute…what? You thought I said that “N” word? No way! I would never use that “N” word.

No, I am talking about the other racist “N” word.

You know…"Nullification (http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com/)."

This is pretty amusing. Someone needs to call them out on the fact that Medina's husband is latino or mexican. Sounds like a libel or slander case to me as well. She was such a great candidate, I really wish she would run for another public office.

I went to the SPLC site once when they labled the first group I actually had some knowledge of a 'hate group' and was astonished. If you parse through their definition of a hate group you will find they, themselves, satisfy that definition. I snorted with laughter and subsequent readings of their lists merely evoked irony.

And she married her husband over her parents' strong objections. I'm waiting for the press release that names Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams as neo-confederates.
