Let's not forget that the U.S. funded Al Qaeda to the tune of several billion back in the 80's despite the fact that the organization's publicly stated objective was to destroy Western civilization. It was okay though, since they were fighting the Soviets at the time. Oh, btw, the U.S. Department of Justice admits it has insufficient evidence to charge Bin Laden with 9-11. Did anybody know that the Bush and Bin Laden families are long held close friends? In the days immediately following 9-11, no one was allowed to fly, not even Congressmen. There were a few exceptions. Anyone from the Bin Laden or Saud families was allowed to fly out of the U.S. while the other flights were grounded. I could go on and on.

While I wish that this announcement would be the begin of a change in our foreign policy of madness, I'm sure that we will continue occupying several middle eastern nations until our country has gone completely bankrupt (which, incidentally, is exactly what Osama had stated his objective was. He wanted to draw us into long, protracted conflicts that would weaken our defense by spreading our military too thin.)
