Wow!

And I thought the youth would be on our side. Looks like they are blind followers without an independent thought left in their head.

Our side? Bin Laden is on our side?

I know. How dare they celebrate the death of a guy who killed 3,000 Americans????

.... Seriously I hope no one who is not already a supporter of Ron Paul stumbles across this forum for the next couple days.

lol. In college I never needed a reason, but a reason was certainly an excuse to convince other people to go out and get wasted.

Yesterday 350 American were killed in Tornadoes, I don't think "celberation" would be the word here if concern for fellow Americans lives is the main objective.

Convenient that it was at the end of the semester when people were in party mode anyway.

So the FBI doesn't have hard evidence of an OBL connection to 9/11, OBL didn't take credit for doing such a thing, and he hasn't been given due process for a crime committed on our soil - and this is a reason to rejoice?

That's not what he meant, and you know it. Pretty much everyone in the whole country is happy about OBL being dead (even including most "truthers" probably), in and of itself. That's just a given. Even aside from 9/11, he was a real asshole. The problem is the obscene nationalist fervor on display:

At this moment the entire group of people broke into a deep, slow, rhythmical chant of ["U-S-A! . . . U-S-A! . . . U-S-A!"] over and over again, very slowly, with a long pause between [each letter] -- a heavy, murmurous sound, somehow curiously savage, in the background of which one seemed to hear the stamp of naked feet and the throbbing of tom-toms. For perhaps as much as thirty seconds they kept it up. It was a refrain that was often heard in moments of overwhelming emotion. Partly it was a sort of hymn to the wisdom and majesty of [the federal government], but still more it was an act of self-hypnosis, a deliberate drowning of consciousness by means of rhythmic noise. Winston's entrails seemed to grow cold. In the Two Minutes Hate he could not help sharing in the general delirium, but this subhuman chanting of ["U-S-A! . . . "U-S-A!"] always filled him with horror...

THAT is why the crowds are discouraging (slash horrifying). It's not about OBL; it's about people succumbing to an intoxicating emotional drive to self-identify with the nationalist collective and the government running it. It's the same kind of jingoistic self-hypnosis we had after 9/11 that led to public support for a war in Afghanistan, a war in Iraq, the Patriot Act, etc. It's never a good sign, and I really hope people sober up again quickly instead of taking, you know...years again before they're capable of thinking rationally.
