Hot Air has, for the first time this year, included Ron Paul in their primary poll. Let's show Hot Air how much support Ron has this time around!

The poll is here: hxxp://hotair.com/archives/2011/05/01/hot-air-primary-survey-may-edition/

Voted for Ron Paul/Christie since I think it is unreasonable to believe were Ron to win the nomination that he could get away with a libertarian VP and even I wouldn't support a Paul/Paul ticket since it would concentrate too much power in one family and I think Christie at least is moving the NJ State government in the right direction.

Rand was my second choice for President though.

And what if something were to happen to RP during his service? Do you expect Chris Christie to be trustworthy enough to adhere to RP's positions?

Ron Paul-Chris Christie was my vote, with Rand as second choice for President.

What were the results of the April primary? I wonder how well Rand did in that one, either as President or VP.

ETA - Found it. http://hotair.com/archives/2011/04/04/hot-air-april-primary-results-and-the-winner-is/

After casting almost 7,000 total ballots — a new high — Hot Air readers have again made Sarah Palin their top choice for the Republican nomination for President. Palin took 33% of the vote, followed by Herman Cain at 11%, Mitt Romney also at 11%, Tim Pawlenty at 9%, and Rand Paul with 7%, only a few dozen votes ahead of Michele Bachmann.

3% said Rand should be VP.

73% said we had no national interest in Libya and should just leave.

I agree with you, but we won't look like a bunch of obsessives by constantly demanding the Paul/Paul ticket. Besides, Hot Air votes are not binding, are they? ;)

I agree with that notion as well, but it's a tough decision. There are very few people who have political experience and can be considered trustworthy besides Rand. Maybe Mike lee, although I don't know enough about him on foreign policy yet.

I honestly don't know, but realpolitick leads me to believe that Ron Paul would have to chose a more 'moderate' running mate if he does win the primary.

And as much paranoia as I have, I think information flow is far different today than it has been in the past so the chances of a successful knock-off are much lower now than they were in the 60's.

I saw this awhile ago and voted.

PLEASE DO NOT SPAM. ONLY VOTE ONCE. Hot Air is probably the biggest conservative blog out there currently so it draws a lot of attention. Don't give them an excuse to make us look bad because they can detect auto votes.

The guy who runs the poll will also put out a map in a week or so that shows where each vote came from so it will be interesting to see where Paul's support is concentrated.

Anyways, spread the word. I want to win this. Anyone think we can get 50%? lol

What kind of questions are these?

Candidate would win in the general election.

Personal, non-ideological qualities of the candidate.

Vote for candidate one of principle; likelihood of general election win not a factor.

Candidate is a fresh face.
People will vote for a fresh face, this qualifies one to become president?
People will vote for non-ideological qualities?
Of course the electability spew...

Let me say up front, as I’ve said before, that these numbers are legitimate — they represent one vote per voter. So, Ron Paul’s people have come out in force, and thus have put him into the fourth spot.

Yeah, voted. Here we go again.

They hate us there. Now, I won't say that we haven't made some progress since 07-08... but to think we are going to capture these people, these people who call themselves "true conservatives", is misguided at best.

I predict this time around for us will only be slightly better than last time, and no, Ron Paul will not be on the ticket. It's nice to fantasize about it, it's nice to throw money into the "bombs" and try, it's neat to have meetups and do sign waves, but in the end we will be back here bitching about whomever they put into power in 2012. We are in a fantasy land... maybe it's all we've got to stay positive, but ultimately it's a fantasy.

Maybe I'll start a thread about my feelings. I don't think Ron Paul has a rats chance anymore than he did in 2008. I truly believe this country needs to go through a world of hurt... i.e. bodies of children stacked like cord-wood... before a guy like RP has even a faint chance, and he'll be long dead by the time that happens. It's sucks having these feelings, but I'm a realist.

God, I hope I am wrong. But flame away if you must.
