Here's a great article to forward to your liberal-progressive friends. Finally, a sane voice from the Left:

[Obama]: "Sure he’s a murderer, in other words, but at least he’s not a Republican!

Put another, even less charitable way: Democratic partisans – liberals – are willing to trade the lives of a couple thousand poor Pakistani tribesman in exchange for a few liberal catnip-filled speeches and NPR tote bags for the underprivileged. The number of party-line progressives who would vote for Ron Paul over Barack Obama wouldn’t be enough to fill Conference Room B at the local Sheraton, with even harshest left-leaning critics of the president, like Rolling Stone‘s Matt Taibbi, saying they’d prefer the mass-murdering sociopath to that kooky Constitution fetishist."

How many dead Pakistani civilians, from drone strikes, are worth a socialist domestic agenda? Put liberals on the spot. Are they for peace, or not?

We can longer afford not to reach out beyond partisan politics.

So is Ron Paul. He wants people to choose, not the state..

So is Ron Paul. He wants people to choose, not the state..

There is a major difference.

Ron holds that it is ok for the government (at the state level) to ban abortion.

Pro-choice people would rather vote for someone that says the government cannot constitutionally ban abortion until the unborn is developed to whatever point (as Johnson does) as it violates the rights of the woman. (I don't think I'm misrepresenting Johnson position here, but I could be, I'm not nearly as familiar with his policies as I am with Ron's).

But anyway, I just wanted to point out that there is a difference here but I don't want to derail the thread with an abortion debate! Lets keep that to other threads :).

There have been many threads about trying to bring over "progressives". It is futile. It will be a cold day in hell when more than .5% of them vote for a Republican over a Democrat, no matter who the Republican is. Yes, they will say "he is my favorite Republican", but he will never get their vote against anyone other than against a worse Republican.

Independents is where Ron Paul can make some gains.

i've spent four years trying to convert my liberal family.

result: hardly speak to my middle sister anymore.

small talk is the only way to get along with the rest.

and that's my own family. :(

There are very few "honest liberals" just like there are very few "liberty lovers". And those who are "honest liberals" will most likely NOT vote in a Republican primary.

To achieve electoral victory we MUST focus on likely Republican primary voters.
