Hello everyone,

My name is Jenn, and I'm an assistant organizer for Mercer County Meetup Group near Trenton, NJ. When I was at a diner last week, I saw an Rudy ad on the placemat. I was not happy. After some research, I found out that Rudy's ad is up as of November 1st, (next printing is in mid november) and that if we act VERY quickly, we can steal his spot. (ad manager is happy to let us do this) This ad man keeps each ad exclusive, i.e., only one real estate agent, only one carpet cleaner, only ONE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.

Broad Street Diner Trenton, NJ - we would have 75000 placemats that will last 4 months through February's primaries, and none of the candidates will be able to get on the placemat.

Princetonian Diner, Princeton, NJ - we would have 125,000 placemats that will last 6 months through the primaries, and again, none of the other candidates will be able to get on the placemat.

WE NEED HELP RAISING MONEY! We are mainly college students and people that do a lot of work on our feet, but have little money to give. Can someone please help us at our chip in site?

How GREAT would it be to boot Rudy off of the ad????

Please give if you are able!

We need to have art and raise half of $945 (475) which is the down payment by 11/5, and the other half (470) by 12/5

Here's the chipin site:

Thanks for your help! :)

Jennie,

You might want to move this or repost this in the grassroots central subforum. It will get more attention there.

Do you have a picture of the ad so that we all can see it?

Hello, Thanks for the suggestion to move the post to the grassroots normal section. :)

(I'm new to this site)

We do not have a concrete ad yet. We just had a brainstorm meeting last night with suggestions for the ad. I will be sketching up the ad ideas, and taking them to our Nov 1 meetup meeting to decide which ad will be most effective.

Our trouble is that Rudy's ad simply says "Elect Rudy 2008 President" and has a picture. But, they already know who Rudy is...

We would love suggestions, or help from anyone good with art to help us come up with the ad. I called the campaign and they said that we were able to advertise, but could not use official campaign materials, and had to note that the ad was paid for by volunteers - not by the campaign.

Thank you again for your generosity. If for some reason we do not get all of the donations we need in time (I'll try to front as much as possible) , we will certainly get your money back to you immediately.

Jennie,

I hope you a good draft soon. I gave my donation in good faith.;)

One usually has to build their involvement in these forums before soliciting donations. Furthermore, if a person is new they usually have to demostrate that they are indeed legitimate and the money is indeed going toward a grassroots project, i.e., pictures, rough drafts, etc. Moreover, the community likes to give input on what to put in an ad since it is their money they are donating.

Hope this helps.

Good luck with the project

:)

Thanks so much for the advice. Feel Free to check out our work at the Mercer County Meetup Group Message Boards :)

A member of my meetup group has been a member here for a while, and suggested posting here. If I had known better, I would have had him post the message :)

Here's a scanned copy of the contract, so you can see something concrete :)

I can vouch for Jennifer. She's in my mailbox a lot :)

I haven't been to any of the meetups yet Jenn, but I've been a member since back in July. Guess I'm just one of those web spammer types. I hope you guys are all headed to the Philly rally as a group, I'd love to meet everyone :)

I'll chip in a bit, to rep the 609 for Ron Paul :)
