I am observing a tea party blog, and so many are highly misinformed about Ron Paul that it is overwhelming at times. Here is the jest of the conversation:

Ron Paul is a nice man and has some good ideas, but it would be wise to look at all of his ideas. If you look at all his ideas, he is far, to far, to the right. It took many, many years to get our country in the shape it is in, and there are many changes that could be made that would help bring our country back more to the center and maybe even center right without doing just as much damage as Obama has done, but trying to move us to the far right in 4 years would do as much or maybe more damage than Obama has done.
he continues to demonize Israel and pushes for America to be isolationists.
I also do not stand with him on his views of abortion and gay marriage and drug legalization.

If we are going to have a chance of getting him elected this time:

we have to be polite and welcoming here

We have to talk to people on other blogs that are potential converts. We can't just talk amongst ourselves

Any other ideas...I guess I am feeling overwhelmed right now.

On point one explain to them that RP is not going to be elected dictator, so with a congress holding him back the result will be moving the country just to wher they thing it should be. We may not like that but but for the people that have this fear it is a selling point.
Isreal is a hard on as it is so tied up in religious beliefs. I do respond to "Isreal is our ally" with what has Isreal ever done for the US? The British have fought along side us, the Germans have fought along side us, the French have fought along side us, the Swedes have fought along side us, Where have the Isrealis fought along side us? As far a general isolationism point out the that the same applies that the most RP will get done is removing most of the troops proping up socialist europe through NATO but we will still have an aliance for a real need, but not for missions like Libya.
On the others you are just going to have to keep pointing out that he believes these issues need to be handled at the state level. On abortion Point out his story as a young intern watching an aborted baby die in a waste basket.

Tackle one thing at a time. Make ample use of youtube videos to make your point. I actually use a Rand health care speech when people bring up Ron wants "to abolish SSI, Medicare, etc" and then I frame it as here's what the Pauls are proposing. I purposely try to morph Rand into Ron sometimes if Rand has a better in dpeth explaination on youtube available. ;)

In your case above, I would say something like "Ron backs Israel and upholds their sovereginity and right to defend their country" and then post his latest Glenn Beck interview when Beck asked him about supporting Israel.

There should be site called RonPaulMyths.com to where it explains each and every one of the issues that people get wrong.. like "Isolationist"

Interestingly enough, a lot of my conservative friends have attacked Paul on his stances on gay marriage. While he has stated he supports all voluntary associations, he did come out and support DOMA.

When approaching Israel, I try to make the issue least about Israel in the beginning. I talk about issues most conservatives absolutely love talking about...the budget having too much waste, the debt being too high, the family falling apart because of social immorality, big government, etc. Then I ask them about foreign aid, offer them some figures, and ask why we're doing this when, as they pointed out, we have our problems here at home first. Bring it back to the point: What is truly American? America first, or Israel first?

As for abortion, carefully approach the argument. I always use the story of witnessing an abortion to illustrate why he is opposed to abortions. Then I proceed to state that Paul is opposed to Roe v. Wade because the Federal Government is no right to tell the States to allow abortions and that the States have the right to ban them. Two points that conservatives agree on: Roe v. Wade needs to go and abortion needs to be banned by somebody.

I recently debated a staunch conservative Christian who was nasty with me at first, but I played it cool and kept offering him proof. Within an hour on Facebook, he was open to Ron and said he was going to watch him. Not a fan yet, but an opponent certainly lost. The guy was under the impression Ron hated Israel, supported gay marriage, opposed abortion, did not want to fight terrorism and was weak on defense, etc. The usual.

I'm not entirely sure why Israel is such a hot topic. It's frustrating to say the least. I support their right to exist and defend their country, but I'm not entirely sure that our electoral process should be beholden to Israel's interests. Nor am I convinced we should pump millions of dollars to Israel either considering they have a fair amount of blood on their hands.

Given many mainstream conservatives are religious christians, it comes as no surprise. That's the problem right there. Israel won't be a problem in the general, but it's going to be through the primaries with all the voters who believe we have a moral obligation to take every bullet for a country that does nothing for us, because of the Bible.

I'm defending Ron on the "racists support him" question and the donations from that ilk on another forum and I think I convinced them.

Tell these Teocons that JANE ROE (yes from Roe vs. Wade) ENDORSED RON PAUL IN 08!

Hopefully she does it again.

Btw, I heard a Norma McCorvey speech that she did here in Kentucky a few years ago. She has quite an amazing story. She became a Christian and a pro-life activist. Really cool story...

Give misinformation about other candidates that is worse.

Romney has 12 wives and loves eating cute puppies for lunch.
Huckabee doesn't like John 3:16 or Raymond.
Newt doesn't like the colors red, whit, or blue. Plus his least favorite shape is the star.
Trump.........just tell the truth about him that is bad enough.
