View Full Version : Is Ron Paul announcing his Exploratory Committee the biggest political story yet?

I haven't seen this much coverage of a single candidate after announcing his/her exploratory committee this year.

Granted, i don't plan my day around Mitt Romney or Tim Pawlenty coverage but doesn't it seem like EVERYONE is talking about Ron Paul, hate, love, admiration and some in between.

with the exception of Trump, i guess.

Tell me if my own "reality" is clouding my judgement or if im right?

Not sure. No one else big has announced yet, except Romney, and he's about as exciting as tums.

Well no one cared about Pawlenty in the least. Romney was a somewhat big story because he's the (media christened) "front runner." Ron's announcement was big because millions of people actually truly care.

either i share your same bias, or ron's exploratory announcement had more fanfare in the media.
and even F.U. Frank gave him good comments.

I nearly went in my pants when I saw him do that.

Being as impartial as I can be, I think this was a bigger deal today than anyone else yet.

It has surprised me! Especially since this is just an announcement of a future announcement.

I think so. Having the back-to-back day exposure had a lot to do with it.

I don't know if it's the biggest, but Dr. Paul is getting lots of mileage out of one announcement. As I predicted, he's getting lots of attention from a media that was slobbering to get election season underway, and had few candidates willing to step out there and put it on the line. Jumping out early has given him a boost.

Televised media has been very good!

Print media has been on the pathetic side - and it's a timing issue, press deadlines and poor announce time, not the medias fault.

When a lot of reporters have a 4pm deadline to turn in a finished story, making an announcement at 4:45 is .... well, not the smartest thing to do. Making said announcement far away from most of them also encourages non-filing....
