This is the number one obstacle in cobbling together a winning percentage of primary voters. He leeches likely Paul votes, with his theocratic twist on Ron's ideals. The people in South Carolina and Iowa are going to eat up his faux populism. We need him out.

I like how Ron took a shot at the fair tax on Hannity's show yesterday...

And if Huckabee is out then who drains off Palin supporters if she's in? We need to play the hand we are dealt. One of the biggest wastes of time we did in 2008 was worrying about which other candidate might drop out. We can (and must) control our own destiny.

Huckabee's Gubernatorial Records Missing (http://politicalwire.com/archives/2011/04/04/huckabees_gubernatorial_records_missing.html)

Political Wire

Mother Jones (http://motherjones.com/politics/2011/04/huckabee-arkansas-destroyed-records): "There's a Mike Huckabee mystery that won't go away. Send a public records request seeking documents from his 12-year stint as Arkansas governor, as Mother Jones did recently, and an eyebrow-raising reply will come back: The records are unavailable, and the computer hard drives that once contained them were erased and physically destroyed by the Huckabee administration as the governor prepared to leave office and launch a presidential bid."

I suspect Palin isn't running. I see Huckabee as our main obstacle with his folksy populist angle.

More and more pundits on Fox have been saying Huckabee would be crazy to run, citing his show, the money he's making, his new house in Florida, etc. I hope they know something that we don't. ;)

Huckabee's campaign is over. He pardoned a criminal who went on to kill four police officers. I doubt he'll want to put up with the attack ads instead of making a lot of money at Fox. Palin likely won't run either, because she will lose and his standing will be deteriorated.

write him letters how much you love his show on fox and would miss it if he ran for Prez

The video of Glen Beck ripping into Huckabee's record should be enough.

Simple. Forward this video clip of Huckabee sidekick to all conservative, pro America, pro military folks, he will be out of race in no time:

Huckabee, Voight in Israel: Free Jonathan Pollard now
Feb 2, 2011... sentence ”beyond injustice” and “a clear case of anti-Semitism.” Voight is in Israel traveling with Mike Huckabee, ... In his comments, Huckabee also noted that Pollard has served a disproportionately long sentence. ...

I personally don't think he is running. I could certainly be wrong, but I don't think he would give up that money. I mean the man was not really making anything back home. His run in 08 gave him his golden gravy train. I don't know that he would give that up for a chance to lose another run.

I think after the recent Glenn Beck incident, Huck will think very hard about it but in the end I don't see him doing it. Glenn Beck is too strong - and if Huck ever gets any votes every candidate will attack him on everything in the following debate. He has no chance and he either knows it or he's a dumbass.

You're right. Beck will be his shadow.

Glenn Beck's attacks on Huck was probably the best thing for this goal so far.

best if Huck is in, and Palin, and Daniels ; imagine a 15 person field. that is what we want so there is victory in NH. better to win with 23% than to lose with 49%

Since we're just throwing random arbitrary numbers in theoretical examples, I say it's better that Huck doesn't run so we can win with 72% instead of losing with 35%.

The CFR friends won't attack each other until Gary Johnson and Ron Paul have no chance at winning.

Huckster not running benefits us greatly. Ron Paul could when over religious and social conservatives to his side much easier.

Power abhors a vacuum. The social / tea-o-cons are lukewarm on Ron at best but they would probably vote for him IF no one else is in the race that is as close. If a Palin or Huckabee jumps in late they could take that segment. Don't know if it'd be enough to win or not, but it could definitely keep Ron from winning if that happens.
