View Full Version : Bill Kristol: "Ron Paul could cause a lot of trouble"

On Fox Report just now Kristol said: "Ron Paul could cause a lot of trouble"

He also called them a 2nd tier candidate but could fulfill the more tea party / populist crowd's desires.

I'm surprised he would admit this. Usually, he would lie and say, "He's not a real candidate, too radical, he won't make any difference," in order to try and influence people's decisions.

The GOP's motley crew doesn't want to talk about inflation, the Fed or Republican big government initiatives. It's easier to mouth off meaningless platitudes. Too effing bad. The godfather is going to be attendance.

Glenn Beck to (Neocon) Bill Kristol: People Have Listened to Clowns Like You Too Long (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?287787-Glenn-Beck-to-%28Neocon%29-Bill-Kristol-People-Have-Listened-to-Clowns-Like-You-Too-Long)

Glenn Beck:

“People like Bill Kristol, the old style Republican guard, it’s over, Bill. It is over. You go ahead and do all your little games in Washington with all of your little buddies to hold on to your fiefdom, but it’s over. People have listened to clowns like you too long. Your day has passed.”

First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you...

They are FIGHTING us. They are trying to destroy any momentum from Ron Paul 2012 before it has even begun! And the Left and the Right are lockstep in alliance. This is exactly what congress will look like under a President Paul. But as Ron told Spitzer, "you represent the status quo so clearly that it motivates me to run for President".

Thanks. It just struck me.... which of the other candidates would make an announcement like this in a green shirt and tie? Not all color coordinated red white and blue, or at least dark grey?

Word of advice. When ppl say RP is old, mention that there have been way older presidents and prime ministers in many other countries including France and Austrailia.

That might be more tactful then replying that the other candidates are trash, and old is nothing on that, but possibly not as satisfying.

Also mention that people were ready to make John McCain President in 08 and Ron Paul is in much much better shape physically then he was.

Doug Wead is going to be a fantastic asset for us.

Konrad Adenauer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konrad_Adenauer) - "Konrad Hermann Joseph Adenauer (German pronunciation: [ˈkɔnʁaːt ˈhɛɐman ˈjoːzɛf ˈaːdənaʊɐ]; 5 January 1876 – 19 April 1967) was a German statesman who took his nation from the ruins of World War II to the most prosperous nation in Europe. He was the oldest chancellor ever to serve Germany, beginning his first ministry at the age of 73 and leaving at the age of 87."

You could almost insert Ron Paul's name there and change some of the wording, and it wouldn't sound off in the slightest bit.

How funny!

Doherty blogs: Shocker: William Kristol Makes the Call for Ron Paul (http://reason.com/blog/2011/04/26/shocker-william-kristol-makes)

Well, not really. The notion of perpetual war for perpetual peace, or perpetual democracy, or perpetual greatness, perpetual keeping fantasized enemies at bay, is far too important to Mr. Kristol of the Weekly Standard to consort with an intelligent and impassioned non-interventionist like Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas).

But see Kristol today quote with approval old Paul co-author Lew Lehrman (on his book The Case for Gold) and who the heck else is getting anywhere near saying what Kristol and Lehrman say is needed?
[...]
In other words, words Kristol seems afraid to use: Go Ron Paul!

It doesn't look like they uploaded that segment. It was on "Special Report"'s All-Star Panel, and they had Krauthammer, Mara Liasson, and Kristol discussing various candidates.
