The McClatchy-Marist Poll (http://maristpoll.marist.edu/wp-content/misc/usapolls/US110410/McClatchy/McClatchy-Marist%20Poll%20Complete%20April%2018th,%202011%20 USA%20Poll%20Tables.pdf), which was released last Monday, revealed that those calling themselves Tea Partiers have little interest in doing anything substantial about cutting government spending, hindering any attempt by conservatives in Washington to rein in that spending and it giving President Obama a huge edge going into the 2012 elections.

The Tea Partiers are about to discover that they can't have it both ways.

The problem is that giving Obama a second term just isn't scary if the alternative is a Rino at the head of a GOP congress. Under those circumstances, divided government looks better.

Well here in Tennessee (some) tea partiers are too busy trying to increase the size of government and attack both the U.S. and Tennessee constitutions by pushing for stupid, fear-mongering "anti Sharia" laws.

I am under the mindset that having more liberty people in the legislature is better than in the executive. I know the president gets a lot more press time so I understand. If the legislature repeals laws and passes pro liberty laws, I think we're better off than having a liberty candidate in white house vetoeing all of these unconstitutional laws. I'm not saying I don't want ron paul in the white house I'm just looking at where we can get the most bang for the buck. I understand it's unlikely to get a lot of liberty candidates to take over the legislature so this argument is moot.

The point is that if we can get more liberty candidates in the legislature and have Obama get a 2nd term I don't think it'd be the end of the world. I guess I'll settle with having Ron Paul in the white house!
