Gaddafi: Barakeh Obama is friend INN

Libyan leader praises US president: 'He is of Muslim descent, his policy should be supported, as he now leans towards peace'

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi considers the US president a blessing to the Muslim world. In a speech published in London-based al-Hayat newspaper on Saturday, Gaddafi praised Barack Obama, called him a "friend" and said there is no longer any dispute between his country and the US.

Speaking in the Libyan city of Sirt at an event marking the 24th anniversary of an American attack on Libya, he said, "At the time, we were the target of the American cannon, the American navy challenged us in the gulf of Sirt and attacked us all along Libya's shores. America tested Libya, and the Libyan people resisted the large country, but today, thank God, the difference is great."

He said, "Now, ruling America is a black man from our continent, an African from Arab descent, from Muslim descent, and this is something we never imagined – that from Reagan we would get to Barakeh Obama."

One dictator only kowtowing to another. Sadly in Ghaddafi's case, it didn't work this time it appears.

I'm sure you've heard the parable of the snake crossing the river?

No, please do tell!

No, please do tell!

I'm sorry it was a scorpion, not a snake.

A scorpion needs to cross a river.

He sees a frog and tries to convince the frog to swim across the river with the scorpion on his back.

"Are you nuts?" says the frog, "You'll sting me and we'll both drown".

The scorpion argues that he would never sting the frog, it would make no sense to do that.

The frog is convinced and starts to swim across the river.

Of course, the scorpion stings him and they both start to drown.

The frog asks, "Why did you do that, it makes no sense, now we'll both drown".

The scorpion simply replies, "It's in my nature to sting you, it has nothing to do with making sense".

Thus is always the case with government and dictators, regardless of what type of suit they are wearing.

This is VERY interesting.. Sweet vindication. I knew I liked this Ron Paul guy for a reason. He's 10000% right on foreign policy.

"Obama is a man who opposes wars that previous American presidents were entangled in; he has declared that he will withdraw from Afghanistan and Iraq – something which has never been proposed before."

Despite the warm sentiments towards the American leader, he stressed, "The Arabs hate America, there is no doubt. There is not an Arab that loves America, and even the leaders who the United States considers allies or friends – hate it. The external love is merely hypocrisy or pragmatism. The reason for this is clear – Palestine."

Though Quedaffi hasn't got the memo that "Barakah" isn't serious about pulling out of the middle east, this does tell us that Ron is spot on with regard to the sentiment toward the US and our current occupations.

Um... you might want to edit your post to make it very, very, VERY clear to the lazy that you love Ron Paul and that those are Gaddafi's words. When I first read your post, I was like "When the hell did Ron say THAT?!?!?" and then reskimmed the article and figured out what happened.

It's been in the media here that the Saudi regime provides support to those providing anti western books in this country (UK).

Well, maybe this will be a balm for all of those in this country who were fooled by that Puppet in Chief.
