...vetoed SB 1592, which would have allowed Arizonans to buy insurance across state lines (among other freedoms and positive rights, and nullifications of fed law). She'd rather "work with Sebelius" to protect socialistic seniors and "build a better partnership" with the filthy fedgov.

I loathe that "For the Children" tax-hiking, nat'l ID for Arizonans "papers, please" creating, big govt perennial bureaucrat. She's just another social and economic fascist (http://www.azcommerce.com/Home).

Will conservatives in AZ as well as across the country finally wake up to that broad's big government ways? I doubt it.

Barry Hess for Arizona Governor!

I can't believe this awful woman went from being reviled by Arizonans for her tax hikes to being a darling of the right simply by playing the oldest trick in the political book (scapegoating those different from you). I wonder if those Tea Party people will wake up to the fact that they've been duped by Brewer.

I don't understand why so many people on this forum are against S.B. 1070. Illegal immigration IS a threat to our liberty, whether you want to admit it or not, and we should not be afraid to do the right thing and put an end to it, even if it means getting pelted with smears like white supremacist, hatemonger, nativist, fascist, etc. Illegal immigrants from Mexico for the most part do not share our culture of individualism; they are here to take from America, not give to it.

That being said, Brewer has lost my support with this round of vetoes. I voted for her in the gubernatorial primary last year because there really wasn't a better option and I regret that vote. If I could re-do it, I would've written in Karen Johnson. My family voted for Barry Hess in the general, so that counts as my redemption.

I have no problem with enforcing immigration laws or stopping the flow of illegals (though as small business owners, we don't like having to play ICE official for the govt [as well as tax collector, social worker, insurance provider, etc.] and not get paid for the time we put into it. I guess it's yet another price we pay for the privilege of owning a business here in the land of the free!).

What I don't like is Brewer et al. creating a de facto nat'l ID for all Arizonans, while effectively doing nothing about illegal immigration:

South Park Fan, I know. The clowns at HotAir and elsewhere were all screaming for her to be VP after she signed SB 1070. They have NO CLUE as to what that big govt broad is all about outside of that.

That has not been my experience. Most of the illegals I know work their asses off for what they earn, and they dream about starting legitimate businesses, and owning property, and having freedom. Of course, none of the ones I have interacted with are involved in the drug trade, so maybe that's the kicker.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

Get rid of welfare, and get rid of the drug war, and there will be no immigration problem.

That was always our take too. Over the years though, immigrants (both legal and illegal) have developed an increasingly entitled, and anti-whitey, mentality, thanks to the collectivists. We have a few naturalized employees, and they HATE illegal aliens. Because they became citizens the hard, legal way, and long before the entitlement rot set in.
