Possible guess is people have signed the 5th and 11th pledges and are saving their money till then.

It's like those 'nobody buy petrol' days. People don't buy petrol, but it only means that they buy what they needed the next day, the total amount of petrol sold over the week doesnt change.

It's the same thing in reverse.

............Or maybe dark clouds are forming.

Uh oh. The campaign is over. Let's all just give up now and go get some ice cream. NO! Keep spreading the message and coming up with new ideas. Fretting day in and day night and starting threads based on fear won't get us closer to our ultimate goal! A thread like this starts up every week nowadays. Huckabee has $700,000! We're only outraising him 4:1! Let's quit and support Huckabee! Please.

I would like to think this is the calm before the storm, so to speak.

edit: Also a lot of us tapped out on Monday trying to reach to broadcast freedom goal. I know I did.

Just seems incredibly light. I'm pretty sure the goal will be reached.

Last night's offline donation dump is letting people catch their breath.

We do need 100,000+ per day for the rest of the month to make 3 million! So let's get fired up! Right now I am donating on the 31st (payday) and the 5th. Sorry, that's all I can do. :(

NOTE TO RON PAUL:

Your voting record is fantastic.

Your writing on a wide range of topics reveals a towering intellect, a clear-thinking brain.

Your philosophy is grounded on ideas I believe to be the very fabric of what it means to be an American in the best sense.

BUT, you must now -- RIGHT NOW -- learn how to sound and act "presidential". Stand straighter. Speak more slowly and more confidently. Lower the pitch of your voice a little. Project from the chest.

You have an image problem. It doesn't help that many muddle-headed Americans believe the vapid drumbeat of neocons like Sean Hannity. Your great ideas are somehow twisted around to sound like crazy ideas.

People can give more money, and they will, and more good YouTube videos can be made, and they will be, but now a lot of this is up to YOU, good sir.

Is this asking you to be someone you're not? Maybe.

And maybe it's not worth it, just to be President.

But a lot of people here are going to be crushed when the neocons and neolibs win, and the mainstream media are successful in keeping the American people dumbed down.

We need a man who looks like and talks like he's in charge.

There is no problem with your message, just the delivery.

I think its party in preparation for the money bomb, and party due to fatigue. The donor pool just needs a little time to recover. 2.3 million in three weeks is pretty taxing. I'm know my bank account is low right now. We'll be back at it again in no time.

Hmm we are at 2.2 million now, that includes all offline donations up to today. 5 days left.

At our current rate, we are projected to raise around 2.4 million this month. Spot on to what I estimated in an earlier thread.

However, hopefully since people will be getting their paychecks tommorrow, we will see a boost and the rate go up.

So realistically, I'm going to say, 2.6 million, possibly up to 2.8 million for october, which is 400-600k more than what we have now.

But no way we are going to hit 3 mil. And most definitely not 4mil that he campaign wanted.

The problem is that not everyone is pitching in. We have over 50,000 meetup group members. If each of them would just pitch in 100 bucks. WOW!

75k RP supporters on myspace. If each of them put in 100 bucks we could raise 7,500,000 million dollars in one day.

If each one of them only donated only 50 bucks we could still raise 3,750,000 in one day which is still impressive.

We should mass message all those people on myspace and ask them to contribute 50 bucks on nov 5th.

22k today? That can't be good.

That we'll get over $2.5 mil this month is amazing. We're all just donated out right now! The radio blitz really drained us. That, and we are saving our money for the 5th donation. I expect low numbers for the rest of the week, though hope I am proven wrong.

HQ would be wise to send out another fund raising email. Back in early Q3, they seemed to come fast and furious. I'm sure there are a lot of people who have donated small amounts in the past, and don't participate in the grassroots or Meetup.

That we'll get over $2.5 mil this month is amazing.

Not really. It leaves us much higher numbers to attain the remaining 2 months of the quarter, if we're going to reach the 12 million goal. And WE MUST, if we want this campaign to have anywhere near enough money to campaign for the primaries.

The donor pool just needs a little time to recover. 2.3 million in three weeks is pretty taxing.

Maybe the issue is not the donor pool needing time to recover, but rather widening the donor pool to ensure there isn't such a high dependency on a lower number of people.

I've said it before and i'll say it again-

Put up more SIGNS!

I don't want to burst your bubbles but.... Dollar for dollar a coroplast sign does more good than any other advertising. WHY? Because the money is spent only on the product and the labor expense is put forth by the Ron PAul supporter posting the sign.

A well placed 18"x24" yard sign can be extremely effective. How much? well lets say you paid $2 for that sign. And put it out on a high traffic intersection, high on a post. 5000 cars a day may read that sign...EVERYDAY! $2 is much better than $75 for one 30 second radio ad... Just think, $75 would have paid for 32 different sign locations...advertising 24 hours a day everyday of its life! --- that $75 potentially made an impression on 150,000 people per day everyday! How is that for cost effective?!?!?!?

So why are we so STINKIN' obsessed with simple cash donations, while we should be focused on canvasing every square acre of land with Ron PAul signs!

Wake up!

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1132/1357613106_142df3f50d.jpg

Tips to make signs more effective:

1. Use a ladder.. get it high enough to keep away the casual Ron Paul basher and lazy government employee thats suppose to remove it.

2. Place the sign in a high traffic area... your front yard is better than nothing, but put the other nine signs up in places that you really analyzed.

3. Place the sign where there is no other signs to distract... no competition

4. Place sign along an uncluttered stretch of rural highway. There are NO city ordnance officers to hassle you. And they will stay up a very long time. Especially if you put them HIGH!

5. The Back of billboards are GREAT!

6. Hang them on abandoned billboards/signs... take a look around, there are more than you might think.

7. Hanging high in the trees with rope is GREAT! (no nails.. eco-nuts may attack)

the best way to get more money for paul is to hand out slim jims. The object is to get supporters who in turn give money and give their vote. Not for a handful of us maxing out. Or do you believe that we are the only one donating?

less than 30% of the voting public even know who ron paul is!! We have to get his name out, perk interest, they research, they like, and then they buy. Which means they send MORE money and so we can buy more signs and they can put up, so we can attract even more folks.... and in the end. They VOTE for Ron Paul.

WE have 5 million bucks. If we spent 500,000 on GOOD signs ...not the message-less hope for America signs... but a good sign. That would give us 1/4 million signs to post. Instead of of a November money bomb it could be a sign bomb. Or both... yeah..I like that..BOTH!

All of the meet ups could coordinate getting the signs distributed to all meetup members... then on one day ALL 60,000 meetup members post (with ladders) 1/4 million signs. Thats only 4 a piece.

That effort would make his last $400,000 radio ad look like childs play!

I know we were planning on giving again, but we're waiting for Nov 5th now. That's what'll bring the massive media attention! Everybody give on November 5th - even if it's not $100. We were planning on $20, but may up it now to $100... Any amount helps!
