Here's something I saw on Huckabee winning a straw poll in SC:

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/02/huckabee-wins-2012-county-straw-poll-in-south-carolina/

"........

Huckabee, who has shown no signs of mounting a repeat presidential bid in the state, nevertheless won the vote with 23 percent of the 152 ballots cast, local GOP officials told CNN. He was followed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who captured 11 percent of the vote. Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann finished third with 10 percent.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney netted 8 percent to finish fourth. Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and reality television star Donald Trump tied for fifth, with 7 percent.

Also appearing on the ballot, in alphabetical order, were Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, former United Nations ambassador John Bolton, former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, ambassador to China Jon Huntsman, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Texas Rep. Ron Paul and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.

The Greenville County Republican Party, the largest county party in the state, is conducting another presidential straw poll next weekend. Two other influential county parties, Charleston and Lexington, will hold straw polls later in the month."

Strange that Ron did not even place at the York County straw poll, but it's good that he won this one. Only Barbour supposedely attended this one, which would explain his relatively high performance here.

Trump says he has good relationship with 'the blacks'

"I have a great relationship with the blacks," Trump told Albany's Talk Radio 1300 Thursday. "I've always had a great relationship with the blacks."

Paul won the vote at the Lexington County Republican Party convention on Saturday, taking 16 percent of the 139 ballots cast. Lexington is considered a bellwether county in Republican primaries and is home to South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, but the party organization there has seen an uptick in libertarian-leaning Paul supporters in recent years.

Bellwether definiton from Wikipedia - "In politics, the term is more often applied in the passive sense to describe a geographic region where political tendencies match in microcosm those of a wider area, such that the result of an election in the former region might predict the eventual result in the latter."

This is FANTASTIC news.
