I came across this in an effort to put Fukushima into perspective. I did not know about any of these. I knew the Russians threw their waste into the sea but never heard about the subs.

No wonder the whales keep trying to beach themselves. I would too if I were a whale.

There was a documentary on not long ago about Ballard being hired to find 2 of these with the Titanic search as a cover. He found them and then only had 2 weeks to find the Titanic. It said they're monitored yearly for radiation, so far as they haven't found any leaking they haven't tried to figure out a way to haul up the appropriate wreckage. I think the scorpion had a few nuke torpedoes also.

Interesting watch.

If they are at the bottom of the ocean, leaking radiation would not be a problem other than in the very localized area.

Hasn't the Kursk been there for like 15 years without any real problems?

Can you remember what it was called?

It appears it was a national geographic show http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/finding-history/3570/Overview

A bit more news on it here
