Hopefully someone will find a tube of that. Epic!!

Jack Cafferty discussed the ending of the nanny state, the fact that before the Dept. of Ed. we had the best rankings in the world. I can only say it was an incredible segment!!

I've often heard Cafferty saying good things about Ron Paul... I think he (Cafferty) actually leans libertarian and has a lot of respect for the good doctor.

that's awesome. Looking forward to seeing a toob of that.

Cafferty is one of the few talking heads on CNN that doesn't seem to ever get on my nerves. I actually find him hilarious. He always looks so disgruntled and angry, and I love hte way he always looks at the camera with his head down adn his eyes up. :D

Hmm... I missed that one. I'll make an allowance for it given that Cafferty often comes across as a curmudgeon. Maybe he was having a bad day! :)

Transcript, with a couple (?)

00:14:53 Republican Congressman Ron Paul of Texas says we simply cannot afford all of the entitlement and welfare programs that we currently have.
00:15:02 Ron Paul is one of the few voices of reason in Washington when it comes to our debt crisis.
00:15:06 He is predicting an end to the nanny state in this country.
00:15:10 Paul wrote this on his website tuesday, "instead of dealing seriously with our situation so many in Washington would rather allow the chaos that will ensue when all of the dependent people are suddenly cut off.
00:15:22 It's better to tell people the difficult truth, that government is simply not capable of managing people's lives from the cradle to the grave as was" I think he is right.
00:15:35 Think about it, when many of our ancestors came here generations ago there were no welfare programs new york food stamps, no rent subsidies, and yet the poor and the uneducated from places like Italy and Ireland, people, some of them who didn't even speak English, came to this country, managed to survive and in time, actually thrived and prospered.
00:15:54 Back when we had no Federal Department of Education, our schools were the best in the world.
00:16:02 Now they are among the worst.
00:16:03 Before the Department of Housing and Urban Development, our industry ____ bustling centers of progress and economic growth.
00:16:09 Now, a lot of them are in decay and decline with growing poverty, shrinking opportunity.
00:16:14 See det(?).
00:16:16 But when people like Paul Ryan talk about cutting government spending on some of this stuff, the democrats get down right apoplectic.
00:16:24 Here is the question.
00:16:25 Here lieutenant(?) end of the nanny state in the United States inevitable?
00:16:28 com/caffertyfile and post a comment on my blog.
