Political bookies are taking bets on which Paul will seek the GOP nomination for president in 2012. The odds now are split 50/50 between Texas Congressman Ron Paul and his son Rand, a freshman senator from Kentucky. The elder Paul has run twice before—in 1988 and 2008—and is a perennial favorite in straw polls. However, his son has dropped hints that he might run if Dad doesn't.
Rand Paul has recently been on tour promoting his new book, "The Tea Party Goes to Washington," in which he discusses the movement's success in the 2010 elections and his plan to reduce the national debt.
