I had a friend back in 1980 that woke me up to a few things that started me down this path, but if he had started out with, "listen, you sheep, you," I can tell you that I would have closed my defiant little ears. Instead, he took the opposite tact--"I know that you're smart enough to understand ..." Of course, I wasn't smart enough to get any of it just on his word alone, but that's not the point. I was smart enough to LISTEN to him, because he didn't turn me off immediately. One thing led to another, and almost 30 years later, a lot more dots have come together on the landscape.
