That was a great video.

My favorite part was when he said (from 2:59-3:30) that arguing to preserve gun rights based on hunting or practical home defense misses the point and "neuters" the 2nd amendment. Amen! That's why I'm so much more of a Ron Paul fan than Rand. I like Rand, but he debates on the statists' terms a lot. Ron is more likely to just say "Its wrong, we shouldn't be doing that at all."

A gunman shot five people and injured at least 11 others at a shopping mall in a small Dutch town on Saturday before turning his automatic weapon on himself, the town's mayor told reporters.

The mayor of Alphen aan den Rijn, a town 46 km (29 miles) south of Amsterdam with a population of 72,000, said there were a large number of people in the shopping center when the "unprecedented" shooting took place.

"A man with an automatic weapon, whose identity we cannot reveal, started shooting and killed five people and then himself," Bas Eenhoorn, the town's mayor, told reporters.

"Four people were very badly injured, five mildly wounded, and at least two slightly injured."

Police officials were not immediately available for comment and there were no media reports on a possible motive for the shooting.

Dutch public broadcaster NOS quoted eye witnesses saying the gunman had blond hair and was about 25-years-old.

Even if gun control didn't set the stage for possible genocide as it has several times in the past, it automatically makes slaves of those who are disarmed.

The very concept of "individual rights" is moot unless an individual (ideally in conjunction with others of like mind) can back up his rights with force or the threat of force. If an individual doesn't pose at least an implicit physical threat to those who might steal his rights, then he's the slave of those people. Avoiding that pathetic condition requires sufficiently potent weaponry, the skill to use it, and -- what's most often lacking -- the will to personally kill and/or die rather than submit to subjugation.
