It is official that Ron Paul will be participating in the first Republican debate on May 5th, but he said that is purely a "token decision". His final decision will be made by next month, he said.

As of 3 days ago, it seems the only other people to commit are former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer. Huckabee definitely isn't going.

This seems to confirm that another presidential run is coming. Why would he commit to a debate if he isn't going to run?

I remember Dr. Paul saying something a while ago that his decision to run would be based on how bad the Dollar gets. Since our country is in full swing for another Great Depression (if it isn't here already), I would say Congressman Paul needs to get in the race, if for nothing else but to educate the masses and win more supporters.
