I'm livid.

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2011/04/06/wsjnbc-poll-a-donald-trump-surprise/

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney appears to be the early front-runner in the largely unformed race for the Republican nomination for president, but real estate magnate Donald Trump may be a surprise contender, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.

Among Republican primary voters, Mr. Romney captured the support of 21% in a broad, nine-candidate field. Mr. Trump was tied for second with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, with 17%. House Speaker Newt Gingrich got 11%, just ahead of former Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s 10%. Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, considered a strong contender by political handicappers, remains largely unknown, with just 6% support. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota had 5%, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum 3%, and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour with just 1%.

It's TRUMP!!!! How dumb are the American people?

Ron Paul isn't even included in this poll. WTF?!? 10-15% of the 150 comments so far ask why RP wasn't included, so that's at least a positive sign.

If Ron wasn't running I would vote for Trump. Trump at least wants to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan and bring our troops home from around the world.

I'm convinced that Trump is a narcissist egomanic who is only in it for himself. I don't believe that our foreign policy would change under a Trump presidency.

The poll has little value without Ron Paul being included. WSJ are neocon scum.

Ron Paul/Donald Trump would be OK with me. Despite being a "mogul" Trump needs about 8 years of economic schooling from the master.

It just seems to me like Trump is the only non globalist running other than Ron. Any Republican who is a non globalist is a friend of mine.

How is Trump's understanding of the Constitution? Has he read it? Does he refer to it?

That was likely Republican voters, not Libertarians, we all know Quixotic Ron the Gadfly is a Liberterian taking advantage of the Republican system.

Do you all expect anything different this time?

Its all scripted and sadly Ron is not written in the play, again. He'll raise more than all combined but Trump and Romney who will fund themselves but it will matter not.

Ron is not in the poll, eh? Well, it's not like he won the 2011 CPAC Straw Poll or anything...

My parents were sitting in front of NBC Nightly News (which they watch religiously; ugh) and even they called it for what it was. I could hear them yelling "bullshit" at the TV. So I think the people who are paying a bit more attention are seeing this stuff for what it is.

Only 250 some people were polled. It's a sham poll.

But the comments are very encouraging. People did NOT google Ron Paul to get to that story, yet 1 out of every 2 comments is pro-RP. We're winning. Oh, we ARE WINNING, baby!

All seven of us Ron Paul supporters living in our mom's basements are working overtime to post comments.

Now all we need is someone to write a blog or something on the comment section of the poll and drudgebomb it and maybe we wont have to put up with this in the future.

I know wishful thinking.

I know what you're saying. For anyone who hasn't seen the comment thread, it's unbelievable. Of the 650 comments there now, I estimate that at least 250 of them blast the WSJ for not including RP in the poll. Four years ago, a similar article with 650 comments would have 50-100 of them being pro-RP, followed by an onslaught of "RuPaul? LMAO!" comments. This time, there's only one guy (who favors Huckabee and Trump) trying to bash RP by calling him Ron PaulBearer. He's failing miserably.

I know they are just comments, but the most significant difference is this. Ron Paul's name is nowhere to be found in the article, so people subscribing to Google News alerts were never notified. What we're clearly seeing is more and more Americans saying "Wait a minute, maybe the Paul supporters aren't so out there. This is a pretty blatant omission here. What's going on, WSJ?". I'm addicted to the comments below RP stories, and to me, the comments here within this story are the second best I have seen. So far, the absolute king is still the Politico blog with the headline of "Paul Booed Twice" (http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2007/10/22/4434422-paul-booed-twice). The comments beneath that article were so amazing and unified that it should have been a media story on its' own right.

There was a comment here on another thread that hit the nail on the head. The MSM is screwed no matter what they do. Either they initiate a blackout or brownout, causing folks to question their intentions, or they give Ron fair time, allowing his message to get out there. We're winning. I don't think we realize this, but we are winning. That doesn't mean we can afford to even think about slacking off.

TRUMP & NEWSCORP, uh, I mean Wall Street Journal, in "LET's MAKE A DEAL!"

How far are the TRUMP "whatever" buildings from the NEWSCORP broadcasting again? Same old garbage... TRUMP donated to all Democrats... Let Howard Dean and Debbie Wasserman-Shultz kiss his ass.

Trump is a socialist. There isn't much difference between him and Huckabee.
