Thanks, I just posted the article but I haven't seen the interview yet. Politico says Ratigan was practically begging Ron....

I love what he said at the end:

“Before I go, I've got to say you – judging just as an observer... I look at the Republican field [and] see Palin, Bachmann, Pawlenty, Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, I think… there's no way any of them are better than you for the Republican nomination,” Ratigan declared.

“Seriously,” he continued. “I’m not saying your answers are all right. I don't know whether your answers are all right or not. But I do know the way that you frame the debate around the issues that this country faces is the most honest.”

This is what I love about Ron the most. There isnt a nasty bone in his body. Thats why I just smh @ some people that try to say "he hates the poor" or "he is a racist kook!" Are you serious?

+1. That was my favorite Ron Paul interview I can think of, just for that epic moment of candidness at the end.

This is amazing 4 years ago I couldn't imagine this happening.

Amen, brother. Ron Paul is a household name, and RP is electable. The only thing stopping us from RP-mania is people telling their friends and co-workers "I always liked that guy, and he CAN win!". When you start hearing that, I daresay it's over, and the momentum will run roughshod.

That was a wonderful interview, and it goes to show that liberty is color-blind (especially in the face of dire circumstances). Only Congressman Paul can beat Obama in 2012, and I'm glad Ratigan recognizes that.

You know the national debt this year is going up 2T, so we have to change our attitude about what our government should be doing. You know, as a strict constitutionalist, I don’t endorse most of our domestic spending, but don’t set out to attack that, if I am going to get us to work out of it, I would go after the foreign stuff and that’s why I think the foreign policy is important…

Did anybody else notice the the comment about not setting out to attack domestic spending? This to me is a change in the packaging of his message to include letting people know he is not going to immediately pull the rug out from under those who have become dependent on the government. I don't remember him explaining it this way back in 2007/08. More Randish than Ronish, to me another sign he's running... or else why would he bother to frame it that way?

This is not new. He used it in 2007 also. He said I oppose all spending but I want to cut the foreign policy spending, not attack child healthcare.

Thanks for clearing that up. Maybe I just didn't hear it because he wasn't given many opportunities by the national media to get his message out.

Deep down inside everyone is a libertarian.

Ratigan is one of the few who take The Fed and banks to task, especially with fraudclosure these past few months.

I made a similar remark just the other day to a co-worker. He agreed. I helped convert him to libertarian ideas within the past year by educating him on Dr. Paul's message. And he voted for Obama in 2008.
