Three Step Recovery Program for America

The solution is simple but profound.

Economically speaking:

1) Restore Sound Money (i.e. money whose purchasing power cannot be conjured out of nothing, nor stolen by the government’s printing press).

2) Repeal all government regulation of private business and property except one: that private property shall not be violated; because private property is Liberty.

Third one is not entirely an economic principle:

3) We must repent as a nation and turn to our God who made the earth and treat our neighbor as ourselves.

------------------------------------------------------------

Ways to implement: Promote and adopt these principles:

1)
Honest Money Constitutional Amendment (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?261839-Honest-Money-Constitutional-Amendment)

2)
The Fundamental Law Constitutional Amendment (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?251255-The-Fundamental-Law-Constitutional-Amendment)
Taxation Constitutional Amendment (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?252192-Taxation-Constitutional-Amendment)
Nullification Constitutional Amendment (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?252475-Nullification-Constitutional-Amendment)

3)
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” (Mathew 7:12 (http://lds.org/scriptures/nt/matt/7.12?lang=eng#11)) Unless we do this as individuals and a nation we cannot prosper.

What do you think?

1. Definitely in favor of.
2. I oppose federal regulation, so yes I overall support this, although I do prefer some environmental and such regulation, I think if number three were implemented it wouldn't be an issue, as we're instructed to be good stewards of the earth.
3. While I am not religious myself, I have a positive view of religion in general as I share the same moral values and the same opposition to greed/selfishness/materialism.

So overall, yes, I would be in favor of this and yes it'd help the country immensely.

Just 2. 1 follows directly from 2. Repeal all legal tender laws, abolish the FED, and have the government do absolutely nothing when it comes to money, and America will have sound money.

Brilliant! And I agree that 1 follows directly from 2. But since not everyone is as brilliant as you, I think it is worth stating it directly.

Thanks! I like your thinking! Brilliant.

For those whom are non-religious like me; read #3 like this:

"Treat your neighbor like you would treat yourself; follow the non-aggression principle."

I see nothing wrong with it.

Mine is simpler:

1. Elect Ronald E. Paul as President of the United States of America.
2. ????
3. Profit!

3. Profit!Your three will work only if Ron implements my three. :)

Principles are more important than names. (Unless, of course, names stand for precise principles). (Which, I guess, in the case of Ron Paul, they do!)

Thanks.

I have no fear that Ron Paul will not implement those of yours which he can. The third is a social issue rather than a political issue. A president can't implement morals.

But I was being somewhat facetious. :p

Gold is Money explained.

VIDEO: Jim Turk explains that gold is money, not an investment. Investments are used to create wealth by producing products or services. Money doesn't create anything. Its role merely is to maintain purchasing power while waiting to spend it. When people hold national currencies as money and those currencies lose purchasing power, they lose their wealth. When they hold gold as money, they maintain their wealth. GoldMoney 2011 Jun 7

Do you know how to move a thread from one category to another? Or how to combine two threads?

Thanks. (I wanted to combine the same thread in "Economics & Sound Money" with this one, but I don't know how to do it).

Thanks.

Thanksgiving Proclamation by President George Washington

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor-- and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.
Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be-- That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks--for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation--for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war--for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed--for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted--for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.
And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions-- to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually--to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed--to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord--To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and us--and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.
Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.
