One of PPP's questions from today has Ron Paul in 2nd place in New Hampshire.

Q18 Now let’s say that neither Mike Huckabee nor
Sarah Palin ran for President next year and the
candidates were Michele Bachmann, Haley
Barbour, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Tim
Pawlenty, and Mitt Romney. Who would you
vote for?

Michele Bachmann 8%
Haley Barbour 3%
Newt Gingrich 17%
Ron Paul 18%
Tim Pawlenty 5%
Mitt Romney 40%
Someone else/Undecided 10%

And trump. We finally know why on earth anyone would run him. It drops Ron way back. This astonishes me, because I can't imagine voting for Trump under any circumstances at all.

They should do a poll without Huck and Palin, but with Trump.

When posting a thread, I check the correct board that the topic should appear in for duplicates. This poll concerns the 2012 campaign.

I mean people haven't learned this lesson yet? Why else do you think Palin is being labeled the mother of the Tea party? I mean how can you even doubt she wont run?

How are these polls conducted really? As only 4% of the participants were between 18-29 year old.

Likely voters — and 18-29 year olds aren't very likely to vote.

Why is she barely mentioning it and not in Iowa? Why have her numbers kept going down?

if ron or rand run but
palin + huckabee save
themselves for 2016,
ron or rand may win?

Looking at the "Paul Favorability" numbers:

Favorable - 54%
Unfavorable - 20%
Not Sure - 26%

All things considered, I find this encouraging.

I'm pretty sure that those numbers are a sizable improvement.. I don't have the sources on hand, but I don't believe Paul's net favorability has been positive to that extent before.

Another encouraging thing about this poll is that Pawlenty is likely to gain a lot over the coming months, and the candidate who stands to lose the most support to him is Romney I'd assume.

What, you disagree with that Pawlenty supporter who was trolling, believing that we'd like Pawlenty ourselves? Who seemed not to get in the slightest that we wouldn't find a campaign motto of 'Security in your lifetime' to be spectacular?

RP has very good favorability numbers in FL too, but a small chunk of the vote.

As a 25 year old intern I feel wonderfully likely to vote...
If there's a "Paul" on the ticket!

Romney and Trump have peaked, we have yet to move. This is a GOOD sign. If I were Romney I would announce way late. Because the second the light is on him he will tumble in the polls.

One thing no one has mentioned is the demographics of this poll......44% of the people were 46-65, 28% were 30-45 and 24% were 65 or older. For Ron to have a 53% favorable rating among those age groups mean we've made good inroads.

We must launch informative ads on Romney since 61% won't vote for someone who mandated healthcare at state levels

Ron was out-polled by Michele Bachmann in this poll. We have work to do.

Check out the Cross Tabs. Paul was second among those identifying themselves as Independent.
