See? This is what I've been talking about for a year now! Michael Savage has turned on the neocons when it comes to some aspects of foreign policy and we can use that to our advantage!

yeah.. but it's unfortunate that Savage dismissed Ron Paul's chance for 2012.

It sounded like he was just giving his honest assessment.

And what is the 'honest assessment' of a neocon worth in determining how someone will do with disgusted liberals, independents and other voters capable of getting over party orthodoxy?

Sooner or later, the Neocon Wing has to make a decision: Do we want to win? Because McCain wasn't exactly a recipe for success, and neither is Pawlenty, Palin, Bachmann, Barbour...

As has been said, Savage is much less of a neocon than he used to be. He called Ron "an honorable man." I don't view Savage giving his own person opinion on the electability of certain candidates as somehow being personal attacks or smears on those candidates.

Woah. This brings up a question to me that I've never thought of -- would neoconnish Republicans tow the line and vote for a non-interventionist Paul, or switch and vote for a war-mongering Obama?

Which one to them would be the lesser of two evils? I tend to think they'd "hold their nose" and pull the lever for a Paul.

acp, your question post is a very, very good one. +rep

I'm absolutely certain Bill Kristol would vote for Obama.

But that's a vast improvement over how Savage treated Ron Paul in 2008. (I don't know where the clip is exactly. Sorry). And more importantly, we need to use people like Savage to propagate our ideas as opposed to our people. The same with any other talk show host. Don't call in expecting a Ron Paul endorsement. Call in talking about how all these wars were wrong, have only weakened our nation and have ultimately left Al Qaeda in a stronger position than they were pre-9/11. Talk about how we can't "give up liberty for security" and that the TSA was wrong, Obama is definitely abusing the power, but Bush and the Republicans shouldn't have created the TSA in the first place. Point out how the TSA was breast groping back under Bush. Talk about how Medicare part D, which Bush created, was a bad idea. Talk about how Romneycare set the stage for Obamacare. We need to drive up Ron Paul's ideas and drive up the other guys negatives. Then in the debates let Dr. Paul speak for himself. If we don't learn how to think strategically and use our opponents, and in this case a passive non supporter, to our advantage we'll never win.
