Remember how MickyD's got that exemption from Obamacare? One has to wonder what deal the company has worked out with the administration this time.
It is worth noting that no president since WWII has been re-elected with a unemployment rate of over 7.5 in the country.
MickyD's currently has 400,000 employees (Wikipedia 2010 number + 2 others) in 14,000 locations. The addition of 50,000 more represents 3.5 additional employees per store. My guess is that almost all of the new hires will be part time and that existing employees will get their hours cut so that the payroll remains the same, but the unemployment numbers look good for Obama.

This announcement from McDonald's is just the latest sign of an improving job market. On Friday, the U.S. government announced a gain of 216,000 jobs in March, pushing the unemployment rate down to 8.8%, its lowest level in two years

What's off here is the article says they have 650,000 current positions, while other sources say 400,000 (google: mcdonalds number of employees). Either way, it will help Obama's unemployment numbers for April. Who will it be for May? WalMart?
