I'm having a debate on Facebook with my liberal uncle who supports the action in Libya. I was going to mention all of the other countries where people are getting killed. I can think of Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Darfur, and Sudan. Are there any more?

Darfur is in Sudan, I don't think their are any political executions on a mass scale in Saudi Arabia or Iran right now. I would add China, Egypt, Bahrain, and Yemen to the list as well.

I don't get how you could be against Iraq and for Libya. It makes no sense. Except W was President with Iraq, but people aren't really that shallow, are they?

Government troops open fire on college students at Kent State, Ohio, USA (anti-war protestors and innocent bystanders)...

The Kent State shootings—also known as the May 4 massacre or Kent State massacre—occurred at Kent State University in the city of Kent, Ohio, and involved the shooting of unarmed college students by members of the Ohio National Guard on Monday, May 4, 1970. The guardsmen fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others, one of whom suffered permanent paralysis.

Some of the students who were shot had been protesting against the American invasion of Cambodia, which President Richard Nixon announced in a television address on April 30. Other students who were shot had been walking nearby or observing the protest from a distance.

The Cheka (Soviet secret police) killed plenty of people back in the old days...don't know if it still happens in Russia or former soviet countries anymore, though

How many people had Gaddafi killed?

That's a simple question without a solid answer.

*USA chant*

I believe news reports had it in the ~200 range....

Fewer than have been killed by our bombing

North Korea, China, Bahrain, Sudan, Somalia, Liberia, Rwanda- those are the ones I know that are worse than Libya. Also lets not forget all the trade embargos the US puts on countries that cause much more death to civilians that Libya has people.
